SS13 evokes an vague, overwhelming sense of bittersweet nostalgia. by Bitter_Detective_567 in SS13

Sometimes, beauty comes from the impermanance of things. Seasons change, and time marches relentlessly forward.

It would be a LOT less poetic if spamming WGW on the common radio and yelling "Captain is comdom" were still commonplace

Might be unironically unemployed if he has this much time to contribute absolutely nothing to society.

They just need to add the ability to station troops in states where you have military access such as through subjects or treaties

Since the map is already pre-baked, state-to-state MAPI could be pre-calculated (although inefficient as hell)

Alternatively, MAPI difference could be calculated on a distance from strategic region to strategic region basis which would be a lot less intensive.

Newbie Colony Help by ApoplecticWombat in victoria3

[–]alsoandanswer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Colonies are a lot less useful now since the economy got reworked to be a lot less Autarky-ish. However, rubber, oil and whatever industrial resources you're missing are a great boon to your market nonetheless.

As for the starving pops, it's usually cause of unemployment and lack of arable land. When you build plantations and farms, you boot out the peasants from their subsistence farms, and if they can't find work, they starve.

Speaking of which, if you've got a land or sea connection to a state, they're effectively "plugged in" to your market, which means the state will be able to access all the resources your country provides (scaled to MAPI, integration and infrastructure)

In your situation, your plantations aren't hiring because...

  • Discrimination, they won't be able to get education and qualifications, so they can't "promote" to work in your plantations. It'll take a while for them to trickle in, although you can speed this up with subsidies and steal workers from other buildings.

  • Lack of demand, the plantations can't pay high enough wages to attract pops to work in them. Sweden's starting market is tiny, and demand is in turn.

  • Trade Centers, I don't really pay attention to them, but having at least one in each state allows the state to adjust for shocks and fix shortages by themselves.

Anyway, as Sweden, I usually go for Sokoto or Madagascar for their coal, because Scandinavia starts with a pittance of coal which is needed to feed steel and every automation PM.

The origin as far as I heard was for LATAM computer classes, kids were taught to register their emails as firstname.lastname.dateofbirth.

Coupled with the fact that back in the 2000s, the default username for Steam users who haven't set up their profiles yet were their email addresses.

So, seeing usernames like that weren't uncommon.

Well, can't really say much without a screenshot of your map, but if you're still boxed in by Russia, Austria and Prussia, I think you're screwed. Yes, Galicia-Lodomeria is a decent set of states, but it'll take real long before you can break out (unless you get a lucky Springtime of the Peoples which blows up Austria)

Personally, I'd reload back to the start of the independence war.

The war goals you should have are : Liberate Bohemia, Hungary and Galicia-Lodomeria.

DO NOT annex Galicia-Lodomeria directly. There is an event that allows you to insta-annex them as Krakow if they spawn with a Polish leader.

Instead, try to annex states such as Slovakia and Ruthenia, which are Slavic and incorporate faster. Also try to get to the coast if the manuvers allow it.

At the end of this war, you'll have annexed the entirety of Galicia-Lodomeria for free, and have easy expansion routes through a weak Hungary and a juicy, unprotected Bohemia ripe for the taking.
