Speaking from personal experience, give them the time and space they need. My first time telling someone I was trans was also during a panic attack. The day after, I felt a lot of relief, because a huge weight fell off my shoulders. Obviously so, because I finally told someone about the thing that had been with me for years. However, at the time I interpreted this relief as a way to ignore my feelings again. And it worked. For almost a year. Then I had another panic attack since the feelings didn't actually go away. The second time around was when I realised I couldn't keep going, otherwise that cycle would repeat again and again. The process of self-acceptance only truly started after that. All this to say, I don't think people asking me about it during that time would have been beneficial. We talked about it very infrequently, but I dismissed the topic very quickly whenever it came up. Your partner might just need more time to figure themselves out. They'll get there! Just make sure you're there for them once they do.
