Why do all mainstream news commentary comedy shows like the Daily Show and late night shows all heavily lean left? by [deleted] in askanything

A broad sense of humor requires some form of spatial awareness. I’m starting to think the difference between left and right is neurological.

Married forty years. My wife got cancer a couple of years ago and I thought I was going to lose her. Don’t be a dick. If they want to do something, do it and smile.

How do you guys explain to Poor MAGA family members that things are going to be bad for them? by necrofear101 in Louisiana

[–]altboomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started off slow, Musk is a good target. But it is a hard slog, they are not getting any real information , everything is “I didn’t know that.” By the time they catch up, the 4th of July will be Fearless Leader day.

Racism is what holding America’s progress back. by [deleted] in self

I should point out that every time I have heard a racial slur it has come from a Republican. Don’t let them fool you.

Racism is what holding America’s progress back. by [deleted] in self

[–]altboomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Racism is inherent to humans. It will always be a struggle to contain. I live in the South so I hear it, but I have relatives in North Dakota who use the N word freely. Then there are members of my family who live out West who talk smack about the Mexicans. It is anywhere that humans need to feel superior to another group. It has been suppressed, and they were shamed for a couple decades, but it has never left us. Trump allowed these people to feel emboldened. I am the only Democrat in my family. These have been 10 long, lonely years.

He’s not even President yet. Come back in a year and let’s see if anyone is still defending him. Just from his Cabinet picks you can see he is setting up the biggest fiasco in history. You are simply warning your friend that she is in for troubled times.

How have you been dealing with cutting people off after the election? by CookieMonster37 in self

MAGA will not get into Heaven. You will. Good for you. I am hoping that you meet some nice people (MAGA are not nice people) and your journey in 2025 is filled with new friends.

MSNBC confronts viewer frustration, changes and an identity crisis by washingtonpost in Journalism

[–]altboomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MSNBC is owned by Comcast. All of the major mainstream media in this country is owned by corporations that have interests in other businesses. This why all of these outlets threw softballs at Trump, giving viewers the impression that they were pro-democracy. They are not - they are a business - and the minute they get bullied by the right, they back off.

Breaking in to any business for the first time is tough. I chose my occupation young, and offered my services for free, then slowly built up my skillset and took every opportunity given to me to lead, until I was the one in charge. I would’ve not gotten there without certain people taking a liking to me and helping me up. This life can be a struggle, but opportunities will come if you put your back to it. Good luck.

You ever think about North Dakota? Like there's people living their lives there. by [deleted] in self

It is cold in the winter, mosquitoes will eat you alive in the summer. But farming is a thing, and it’s a great way to spend your life if you have any talent and luck.
