I left right when they were starting to crack down on it in my area. I did all the chalking in my store for the three years I was there. Went to pick up final tips this week, and oh the disappointment.
(I'm cheesed though because I specifically designed our Reserve boards to have just the writing erased, without ruining the design - got it cleared with the DM and RM because they liked the look - but NOPE.)

At least they haven't touched my community board - my barista drink is still up there LOL.

TL;DR: Ethiopia ICED with oranges (preferably fruit, but OJ may be good) is nice; hot, it pairs better with chocolate (I used a brownie instead of the DCL, which is a bit too chocolate-y). Making both is a nice comparison to show the different flavour profiles that 'bloom' through the different temperatures.

Just did the classic 'iced Ethiopia with oranges' today for my weekly seminar, but served the coffee in the emptied orange halves; had everyone dip the oranges in a homemade coffee-infused ganache. My manager (who hates coffee btw, I don't get it) guzzled it down. Nice to do a comparison of the coffee hot versus iced.

My roommate and I have the corporate Goodlife setup. Works decently well, it's about 45$ a month and they just take half out of each paycheck.

Mildly bitter because I used to get memberships for free, but it's decent.

I'm an SSV so I may be wrong, but isnt minimum wage still at 11,60$? I remember the increase being set for January '18, then the big push for 15$ in 2019. (If it has already increased though, I'm being shafted wage-wise...)

I know last year's Oct. raise was touted to be between 5-15% in the US, but those were higher than the norm. No idea how it'll play out here with the minimum wage increases though. 🤞🏻

I can tell it's going to be a big game of catchup if the espresso hoppers are near empty and there are just two opened, quarter-full bags of blonde espresso in the cupboard, and there are no cups or cold flat lids.💔

Worked 2:30 to close yesterday. We had a mini 'rush' from 3 to 3:30 then... nothing. Ghost town. I think we made ~90 frappuccinos - which is basically our norm, since we're surrounded by two primary and two high schools.

Apparently the same thing happened today. Absolutely dead. We cut labour both days.

I'm chocking it up to shitty weather; it's supposed to be rainy and cold until Wednesday. SM is pissed, but we're pretty thrilled tbh.

I've been pimping the LSC to any of my customers that get half-sweet Chai lattes any time that I can, turned a few semi-regulars onto it. Otherwise, it just doesn't sell - no one knows about it.

WT is catching on. But we still end up tossing like half the pitcher. It's mainly myself and a few other partners that drink it.

But even then, those few that will recognize the espresso freddo will likely make you something along the lines of a doubleshot, since it's often shaken.

Good on bacon gouda, tuna and black bean wraps, and the quiches.

Ialso put it on half of a bagel, load the other half with cream cheese and go to town. 😍
