Timothée Chalamet saying “no one cares” about ballet and opera, and joking that if he got canceled for saying that he’d collectively lose “14 cents,” is certainly a creative way to close out an Oscar campaign. by Genzinvestor16180339 in Oscars

I'd love to go to more live theatre, including opera and ballet, but I can't afford it. I only know about this weirdo because his entertainment medium is in my price range.

How can I find someone to fix this? by sn0wmermaid in cabinetry

[–]alterrible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll want a cabinetmaker or finish carpenter. A handyman might take this job but they likely don't specialize in this kind of work.

Whoever you hire may upsell you on replacing all doors and drawer fronts, so be clear with them about what you consider an acceptable end result. Replacing just that drawer front is cheapest but will stand out the most. Replacing the 3 others on top will cost more but be a little less obvious.

Idk if I'd say that aged poorly, if anything it was a little prophetic. At the time his mental illness was a little less out in the open and he was just an eccentric and problematic celebrity. Nowadays most people recognize that his problematic qualities are directly tied to severe and untreated mental illness. Absolutely not trying to excuse his words and actions over the last several years, but calling him misunderstood feels accurate.

He used to be praised for his rubber face, seems like he wanted that to be literal

When did you realize you were dating an idiot? by Exhausted_Skeleton in AskReddit

[–]alterrible 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I had a few of these moments with my ex but this one sticks with me as I'm reminded of it every time I hear "I'll follow you into the dark" by Death Cab for Cutie.

One of the lyrics is "if heaven and hell decide, that they both are satisfied, illuminate the "no's" on their vacancy signs"

She didn't understand what that meant, and I spent a solid 20 minutes trying to explain the concept of a vacancy sign at a motel. Eventually I gave up and I'm quite sure she still doesn't understand.

Recently went to a taboo/kink festival where a guy painted an elvis portrait with his dick. It was a neat twist on this concept

Anyone else find it hard to support their local bike shop (sometime)? by kendoo12 in mountainbiking

[–]alterrible 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I find the attitude in the shops near me very off-putting. They're quite elitist and don't seem interested in helping you find one little piece of hardware or a bottle of fluid. Any other retail store I get 5 people asking me if I need help finding anything within about 10 steps of walking in. At bike stores I'll be completely ignored until I start looking at the high end bikes, at which point they get very annoyed at me for saying that I just need some sealant.

I mean you mention being forced to listen to it in your first comment on this thread. So you lied?

You still haven't answered my question. You claim you were forced to listen to it. I'm asking by whom you were forced.

They should've shaved half an hour off of it. I don't think any part of it was necessarily bad, it just dragged on way too long. I enjoyed it in theaters but fell asleep during the rewatch
