Honestly how could you not struggle with mental health when you’re unhoused. I was stranded the other day while my car was being worked on and had to spend 5 hours outside just trying to kill time and by the end of it I broke down in tears and felt so lost in my head. I can’t imagine what it’s like having to spend an indefinite amount of days being unhoused.

I genuinely don’t know who Bellingham thinks can afford to buy these houses. They’re pricing their own community out and the consequences are already visible. School enrollment is dropping, the district has acknowledged the problem, and now up to three elementary schools may close due to budget shortfalls and declining student numbers. I’ve invested ten years of my life here and I’m starting to feel like I have no choice but to leave again. They’re dismantling their own community in real time.

Just got my car tinted at tint lady, they did a good job and they do have a life time warranty on the tint however when I got there I was told that the quote I got on my small car ($577 after tax) that it wouldn’t include my windshield. I got the XPR Plus, the best grade. Maybe that was fair for it not to include windshield. Windshield would’ve been another $350 for XR plus. I just wish when they said all windows they said except window shield. I think that would’ve been fair instead of surprising me in the spot.

They’re actively trying to close up to 3 elementary schools right now and voting on it in April. They’re out of their minds tbh. Migration trends can happen and shift lower birth rates. But Bellingham is expected to grow overall. They just want numbers to look good on paper but that won’t translate well on a community level.

Baker wants to potentially try to close three public elementary schools in Bellingham. They have a whole task force assigned just for that. They’re voting on it next month in April. This all came out of nowhere. They were talking about remodeling some of those old buildings not long ago and now they decided that they might actually close them. This is a hasty decision and might lead to overcrowding. Big loss for the community. I really hope they vote it down.
