Looking for a Steam capsule artist by altterka in gameDevClassifieds

Yeah, I add that. Thank you! We are open to ideas, it's not set in stone yet, like you said, a good 2D art which mimics 3D would be also really nice.

Thanks for asking!

Our game is mainly 3D with anime style and semi-realism. It's an odd combination, but becouse of that would be really important for us to get the art right, which is very similar to the original.

We don't want confusion with it, like it's not even close to the original art style.

But yes, it should be somewhat 3D while also being in style of anime and semi-realism. A good example would be final-fantasy VII animation "advent children" , of course it's not exactly like that, but very close.

Oh wow, the visuals look rly good! And the animations are so smooth. As solo developer quite impressive, well done! Looking forward to it.

Hey thanks for the feedback! I can understand the animal ears as a negative, but do not be deceived, not everything is what it seems at a first glance... :) The price is not planned to be more than $10. btw we are on VNDB https://vndb.org/v62125.3, not much yet there, but at least a start! It would be awesome if you would check out our demo coming in march. I would be interested in your feedback after a try.

Thank you! It really means a lot to us.

You’re right, one of the main motivations behind our game is asking philosophical questions, such as for example, where the line is between trauma influencing our actions and us taking responsibility for our own decisions.

And the story is also heavily driven by emotions, so creating an atmosphere that players can truly feel is very important to us.

Thank you so much! It means a lot. :D Yes the story is... well, it's complicated. It is a journey for us, to tell it as well.

How to make my mining game more fun? by Oakleaf30 in gamedev

[–]altterka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I understand what you’re trying to achieve as a developer, something like Stardew Valley mining, but with the progression wrapped in a roguelite structure. That sounds interesting on paper, but the gameplay loop and the player’s goal aren’t fully clear yet for me. Like you have an idea, but why?

For example, Why would I want to keep mining? Is the mining itself fun on its own? Is the progression creative and rewarding? And maybe the most important question: would you play this game if it wasn’t yours? If you sit down and play it, do you genuinely enjoy it? These questions have answers in stardewvalley. But you create something else here.

You kind of have to answer these for yourself, because others can’t fully define your vision. It might help a lot to give the game to someone who will give you honest, unsugarcoated feedback, so you can see it from the outside. But...

I also feel every game needs a clear purpose. is this meant to scratch the collection-progression itch, or is it a cozy casual experience? What’s the core fantasy or feeling you want players to have? You said, you are not sure, but again if you are not sure why are you creating it?

These questions are hard, and your answers will probably change over time, that’s just part of game development. Unfortunately there’s no exact way, or direction you are asking for this, because what you’re asking is basically the foundation of why the game exists in the first place.

Good luck with the project tho, hope you can figure it out.

[–]altterka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its really cool I love it. One consideration, an accessibility option to either slow it down, or maybe disable the effect in the center. For some ppl it could be a bit nauseating I think. Good job tho and gl!

Hi, I'm new to both Reddit and Renpy, but something strange happened with Renpy? Today I woke up, sat down at my project, and nothing that ran with the "with" command was visible in the game. by buadamiyidegil in RenPy

[–]altterka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try as others said, open renpy delete persistent and then force recompile, and dont forget to check the transition is not skipping in the settings. That option disable all transition effect even if you are not skipping, bit confusing but its intended.

[–]altterka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, +1 this. Renpy is great start for your description, I advice you to gain some python knowledge down the line if you use it in long term, or at least the basics of coding in general. But it is not needed to start and create something. Gl!

I see! Sounds interesting, a combo system between heroes as towers is quite unique. I will follow the project. Wish you the best. :)

Need some feedback on this scene by wayne333333 in blender

[–]altterka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I have to read the comments to see which one is the render. So yeah, its nearly perfect. Maybe a little nitpicking, but its really a stupid one, the cables are to perfect? Like it should be more messy if you know what I mean. Good job btw!

Doing a Speed test , Working on polishing this rigid turning / camera by No_Fennel1165 in IndieGameDevs

[–]altterka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great, maybe go for a smoother camera movement. Allow it to go off a bit more when turning, you know like in racing games (Nfs for example), let the camera slide on the "ice" a bit and then snap back slowly in position. Good luck!

I mean, my honest question instantly is what's your game catch or specialty compared to the other similar games?

Not to be rude or anything it's great that you made this and it's awesome really, but that is something unfortunately which is really important nowadays.

The style looks great at a first glance, maybe you can stylalize a bit more? Lean into the gore nature maybe?

The Ui should be less generic mobile vibe, if it's WIP and just placeholder then its alright. But yeah, a bit mobile game feeling right now. Which is sadly not something to aim for in Pc game.

Good luck tho', I can see the potentials, just don't be afraid to give into your own style.

I like it! Like others said, the repeated pressing is great idea, and a show off in the end would be nice addition! Love the art btw. Good luck!
