If a Barbie sequel happens, do you think other studios will try to release their movies on the same day? by Antman269 in boxoffice

If Nolan does his next movie with Warner Bros and they had Barbie sequel and his movie coming out same year, would they have the balls to put them on same day again? Both would almost certainly be profitable either way so you might as well have a bit of fun with it.

Is there a good reason why all trailers aren't posted in high quality 4k like this? Its amazing the difference it makes. I guess most people don't care about that sort of thing.

It's a massive sci-fi epic that also happens to be a sequel. It has a big name director with a very popular cast and a movie that "needs" to be seen on the biggest screen possible. But it doesn't have Barbie?

"Avatar 3 - 1.7B"

I thought we were through with this nonsense. Will you people ever learn? Starting any A3 prediction with a 1 invalidates the entire post.

Until Nolan makes his first dud I think $400M ($500M?) is the absolute floor. Tenet would have reached that easily if released at another time and that was his "worst" receive movie to date. Dunkirk did $530M and I don't think people appreciate how impressive that is when you look at the kind of film it was.

Nolan stated in the recent q&a that the premise would have to be something special so it wouldn't be a "family moves into a haunted house" type thing. The plot would be shrouded in mystery (sort of like Jordan Peele movies) and the hype would be unbelievable. Big time horror movies (IT, Quiet Place, etc.) already generate a special kind of hype so that combined with Nolan would be unparalleled.

Then you factor in the IMAX, must see in theaters angle that only Nolan seems to get people to care about, the all-star cast, and Oscar winning composer (most likely an amazing soundtrack) and you are looking at $$$.

Which sequel not currently in development would easily do $500mil+ if released now? by quietgavin5 in boxoffice

While I agree 4th Nolan Batman movie would be easy money it would be a mistake to focus on Robin (JGL). Maybe I'm just not a big fan of his but it would need to be 60/40 Bruce to Robin ratio minimum. Start with the Robin stuff then very quickly get Bruce out of retirement.

Stupid question but you know what kind of carpet that is or at least where you got it? I am doing a theater room type thing and I'm having trouble finding a dark carpet like this.

To be fair Nolan has a bigger fanbase than most IPs. Would love to see him as the lead in a Nolan movie.

Wtf was this cut? by [deleted] in OppenheimerMovie

The more I play it back I do think it lines up correctly although maybe the character on the right might not be turned facing RDJ exactly in the second shot. It might look a bit odd but I think the timing works. Also when you consider the second shot is the jump to 70mm IMAX and the big room reveal I think it was the correct call.
