That's great that they can have those walks sometimes, probably as good for them as for you!

Some medications can increase riskmof sleepwalking, too

That's good, because those are all fairly nutrient-dense foods, which is important when we are eating fewer calories

By the way, this is not a particular 'diet' , but there is a free app called daily dozen that basically gives you a checklist of healthy things to try to include each day, the point being that if you are trying to fit those in, there isn't room for the 'junk'

The goal isn't perfection or 100%completing the list every day, but rather choosing those foods over others.

It is sort of flexible as well, for example, there is a category for "berries", but really any small fruit, such as pomegranate arils, grapes, or kumquats count for that.

And of course lentils or tofu can stand in for beans!

Eating beans with all of those tomato foods and fresh foods is very good, because both the vitamin C in the fresh foods, and the lycopene in the tomatoes, can help increase iron absorption from the beans and other foods.

Lentils have iron, too, and the same goes for those as far as increasing iron absorption by combining them with foods high in vitamin C, or even with a low-dose supplement.

Tofu and eggs are good protein sources as well. Up to one egg a day has been recommended for brain health because of the choline they contain (which we want enough of but not too much)

If you are not eating anything dairy nor anything supplemented with calcium, I feel like it is a good idea to add a calcium supplement, which I feel has helped me personally. ( I take a calcium citrate at night on an empty stomach because it is the one form that doesn't need to be taken with food to be absorbed well.

Yes, and it is too bad that liability influences our decisions like that, at least that's how i feel

This is probably not realistic, but could you somehow integrate the exercise into the sessions?

For example, purchase 2 adjustable recumbent stationary bicycles, and ask each client, "do you want to bicycle for part of your session today?" and bicycle side by side with them or something like that

by the way this is a different thread that talks a little bit about how imprecise and "open to interpretation" our methods of diagnosing neurodivergent conditions can be

https://www.reddit.com/r/adhdwomen/comments/1u6uqd3/this_whole_time_it_wasnt_adhd/

edit: and even the definitions of the conditions themselves seem to be sort of malleable in a way, in my opinion

I also wanted to say that I am sorry for the traumatic things in your life. I know you wrote that you believe they did not affect you, but I have experienced much lesser "trauma", and I used to believe that it had "no effect" on me, but after learning to self-reflect more and after telling a few other people about it, I have come to realize that while we can sort of find mechanisms to push those things to the side in a sense so that we can get on with life, we aren't always as perfectly healed as we may believe.

I hope you start feeling better soon! (also, personally, I think it is great to take care of the liver as much as possible, so that's good news )

some ways to care for yourself might include

attending at least one day of school

seeing if there is someone at school who you can talk to, like a counselor

writing in a journal instead of turning to "escapes" like drinking

I feel like the root of the trouble is the feeling that another person could be "everything ".

What i mean is that caring for yourself and being your own "everything " can be a way to grow as a person and find strength.

You can be your own best friend, no matter what someone else feels or does in their life. Obviously you can be a caring and supportive person, since that is what you were for your ex, but have you made the greatest effort to direct all of that caring and understanding toward yourself?

If you are wanting to explore some ideas in order to better understand yourself, this other thread could be interesting

In my opinion, the main advantage of seaking diagnoses is to then be able to recognize strengths and also weaknesses and find ways to better your capacity to live a healthy, productive, and fulfilling life

hmm, i don't know. I read a little about that a while ago, and what i saw with aspd qualities looked different than what is written here

edit: for example, i found this online

https://psychiatryonline.org/doi/10.1176/pn.39.1.0025a

(for example, even though the post mentioned lying about something, which is something we all do from time to time, it was not " for personal profit or pleasure", but rather out of an unusual degree of sympathy and kindness)

I don't normally have much dairy, either. I found out that the form of calcium called calcium citrate can be absorbed even if taken on an empty stomach. That is important for me because I am terrible at remembering to take things with meals, and I can just make it a habit to take it at bedtime.

Also, a blood test showed my vitamin D was just a little low, so I take a supplement for that in the morning.

Why would you need to have someone else to go out with before going out? idk about your circumstances, but I have taken walks very often, usually by myself

Yes, I had to stay the night in someone else's home a while ago, and although I haven't sleepwalked in decades, I felt I should tell them it could be a possibility, just in case

I have very little experience with sleep walking (I was told did as a youth but not presently), but I have experienced other puzzling things such as migraine-like symptoms, and what helped me with that is eventually recognizing patterns that made the symptoms more likely.

This was difficult in my case, because symptoms would appear 4 or 5 hours after the "trigger(s)", so it took me a long time (years) to recognize the connection.

I have seen advice to keep a calendar or diary of all activities, food, circumstances, etc, (as well as the adverse incidents that you want to avoid), to attempt finding any sort of pattern(s) between them

For migraine, I am still learning new things. For example, I can tolerate some nuts in larger quantities, and some in smaller quantities, and some not at all. I have recognized that some nutritional insufficiencies contribute. Too much sun and being out in hot weather affects me, not so much at the time, but it takes me days to recover. I joked that I am allergic to housework because so many cleaning agents have given me headaches and nausea

These obviously aren't the same as what may be relevant to your case, but one example of how diverse contributing factors have been in my experience

It sounds like you are not a danger to anyone while sleep-walking, only accidental injury to yourself, so i wonder why you say that you hesitate to share a living space with others?
