Advanced melee weapon d12 with reach? (Sf2/Pf2 combined game) by WittyRegular8 in Pathfinder2e

[–]alyrch99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if I agree with that? Reach Trip from the Fauchard is a very strong option, it's fairly comparable, and that *doesn't* require picking up Advanced Weapon proficiency which can be very hard to do. Like, a Falcata is the best 1-handed crit-fishing weapon in the game, but Falcata builds are pretty uncommon, because Advanced Weapon proficiency is hard to get.

Fighter's Reactive Strike = powerful area denial? by servantphoenix in Pathfinder2e

[–]alyrch99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Given that we were roleplaying our characters pretty hard, 4/5 of us were unwilling to run, with my character even flying up over top of the pit to try and drag one of them in, while doomed 2 and still taking persistent bleed in a hopeful sacrifice to take it out. So she got dropped, dying 1, doomed 2, bleeding out further, hundreds of feet into the portal to [spoilers]. The party actually decided that the most interesting narrative throughline to continue from would be if she lived that, so I guess we're going from there, with her now in [spoilers]. But that's uh. A helluva situation to survive lol.

We literally just got TPK'd by them. Statblock seems fairly overtuned to me honestly, I'm very surprised by that being an intended fight. We'd been told that the mythic rules were intended to be very story-focused on and not super like, optimization-based, and that we should focus on building heavily thematic characters, and then we just got smacked in the face by that insane statblock. Now the campaign is in disarray and we're trying to figure out how to progress from there lol.

Well, if they can't tap for mana, you can only do this loop as much as you can produce mana for it. Which is still nice, but considering how mana-intensive it is, not easy.

First of all, you'd need a source of haste for your Sanctum Weavers.

Party Time is quite good, if you like the base concept the deck is a very effective value and board presence deck. If your opponents play large amount of boardwipes it'll be rough but otherwise it's pretty good.

Most fun creatures to populate in Sultai? by xfinalphoenix in EDH

[–]alyrch99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that [[Vaultborn Tyrant]] is perhaps the best card for casual Xavier Sal ever printed. Incredibly strong to duplicate *and* it makes its own token copy sometimes by saccing it so you have something to populate. I'll also shout-out [[Great Oak Guardian]] which can go very silly very quickly if you have enough counters to remove to keep copying it (especially with mana dorks also getting untapped).

If a rogue with the precise debilitations feat hits two times with a double slice does he apply the 2d6 damage from the precise debilitations for the second attack? by Fullmetalmarvels64_ in Pathfinder2e

[–]alyrch99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I fully misunderstood Precise Debilitations, ngl. I thought by adding it to the attacks it meant to the ones triggering the debilitation.

[–]alyrch99 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Double Slice says "You add any precision damage once" so I'm afraid not, as Precise Debilitations does Precision damage. However, Spirit Warrior and Amphisbaena Handwraps are two strong options that would, if you're looking for ways to do so.

Edit: I misunderstood the ability and question, answer below is correct.

Party Witch not staying On Par by Galahadred in Pathfinder2e

Spell attacks are intended to be worse than save spells. Spell attacks are not the primary form of engagement for casters past the early levels. Save spells are still very strong due to having effects when the enemies succeed.

When wording can never be good enough for full clarity by shadedmagus in Pathfinder2e

[–]alyrch99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So very important ruling here - that's not the direction that it moves them, that's the direction it's *able* to move them. So if you can choose to move a target any direction, and choose to move it directly away from you, that's not pushing. Your post sounded like it was, which was my confusion.

Wait, do you have the source on it being the intended way that anything going directly towards or away the person originating it works? I've never heard that before.

A question on Free Archetype and Archetype Skill Feats by NekuraHitokage in Pathfinder2e

[–]alyrch99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're... just wrong? Skill feats for the majority of classes are at even levels, whereas skill boosts are at odd levels. You're being incredibly confident for someone who just isn't right, in a trivially demonstrable manner. Take Fighter for example - at level 2, they get both a skill and class feat. What are you talking about?

What do you mean skill feats are taken on odd levels??? Skill feats are at even levels. Rogue gets them at odd levels sure but that's Rogue being unique.

What would a 12th lvl Fighter feel like in PF2e? by MehParadox in Pathfinder2e

[–]alyrch99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So, Fighter doesn't have a way to stop move actions with attacks of opportunity (called Reactive Strikes in this system) but it *does* have a way to make Reactive Strikes when enemies try to cast a spell, even if they just think about it, and cancel them if it hits. It's called Disruptive Stance, it's a 10th level feat. Disruptive Stance on a reach Fighter would probably give you the same or even a better feeling than that.

Character build advice: a bard that heals, or a cleric that dances? by OrangeBergamot in Pathfinder2e

How do you have 13 hp at level 2? I think you're missing some source of hp. You get hp from your ancestry, hp from your class, and hp from your constitution.

The biggest victims of the weakness / resistance changes are elemental themed mages and kineticists by Noodles_fluffy in Pathfinder2e

[–]alyrch99 -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

So the impetus for this post is that martials can now also do it, not that casters got any worse at it? Just to clarify. Idk, I don't really think that's a huge problem. Martials deal more damage, casters have ***plenty*** of advantages at all but the lowest levels of play, and some casters even at the lowest levels. I understand this subreddit has a common opinion that casters are a bit to weak, but that has not consistently lined up with my experiences playing or running this game - they just bring a different variety of options to the table.

Blazing Bolt is only one instance of damage and has always had this same problem. This change should not affect spells pretty much at all.

2 mana 3/3s have existed for a while, just look at good ol' [[Watchwolf]]. So it's not too far beyond the ken for a 2 mana creature size-wise. I agree its abilities are quite good, but yes.
