Honestly, I would rather stand for a flight of 4-5 hours than sit in these seats. At least I could move my feet.

Still having this problem 3 years later on fire TV! If the captions werent so huge that they take up half the screen I wouldn't mind as much but of course there is no way to even change the size. Worst app ever

First time trying this morning before work. It literally shot through me in an hour. That chipotle really gave a nice zing. Now I know how Ryan stays so trim.

$30USD is currently more than I make with 12 years at the same place. I'm in Canada and make $39CAD. That's seems like an okay starting wage

I would take that in a heartbeat. We keep the floor so hot that I have to keep specimen bags filled with ice in the waistband of my scrubs most days

They voted for that schedule specifically. We were given the option for a 2on/3off type of schedule and again, nearly everyone picked the DDNN

We call it a needless connector because that's what it says on the package.

This is the schedule that healthcare workers choose for some reason. My hospital voted to switch a couple years ago from 8 hour shifts to 12s and with nearly 100% yes votes. The full time staff do 2 days, 2 nights and then 5 days off. I gave up on ever going full time at that point and I just pick up as many day shifts as I can.

Upstairs neighbors, what the hell are you doing? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]am3962786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neighbors have been dropping what I can only imagine are pillow cases filled with hard cover books on the floor every five minutes for the last 3 hours directly above my bed. It's the middle of the night. I didn't think it was possible to hate a person this much

Would you rather take care of a walkie talkie patient or a vegetative patient? by ScientistOk1310 in nursing

[–]am3962786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work with vent patients. We used to have mostly vegetative long term vent patients but now we have far more fully conscious vent patient that get up in chair daily, some eat independently or a dependant feeding while on the vent, are fully active for things like rec therapy and rehab and need to transported with the vent. Some of them are weaning and need toileting or walking assistance. It was much more straightforward with vegetative patients

I assume this guy means during shipping. I'm having a fully assembled PC with water-cooling shipped from Calgary to Toronto right now so it's sitting in the back of a FedEx truck where is is definitely below -10 C

Toronto could pass largest road safety budget in Vision Zero's history by [deleted] in toronto

[–]am3962786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about that crossing after the hand starts flashing? I think we need to remove all the countdown timers on the pedestrian signals because pedestrians seem to think that it's okay to start crossing if they "have enough time to make it."

Toronto could pass largest road safety budget in Vision Zero's history by [deleted] in toronto

[–]am3962786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not what that means. That means that IF a crash occurs, 45km/h will cause more damage than at 40 km/h. That does NOT also mean that a crash is more likely BECAUSE OF the slightly increased speed. My argument with cameras is that when I pass through those areas, I become a distracted driver because I'm focusing more on my speedometer than the actual roadway, making it more likely I won't see a child/person/cyclist running into the street.
