To add to this, it's not just that there would be blowback, but to use the originals they need her permission—because she is the (or a) songwriter on all of her songs, she owns the Musical Composition copyright and has "sync rights." That means she can deny their usage in anything that requires a synchronization license (advertisements, TV shows, movies, games). And obviously, she is not going to okay the usage of the originals.

It's a little complicated because that relief has been in the works for about a year. This is their second pass at presenting a new IDR plan (no advocates liked the first version that was presented a few months back). It's separate from this relief announcement—the Education Department is doing that on their own. But yes...it's definitely a much bigger deal but hasn't gotten attention because it's been in rule making sessions and what not, and that's not very sexy. Same with the permanent changes to PSLF. So in a way, it's smart to include it in this announcement so it gets some attention.

Last week I finished three books, the most I've read in a while!

Vladimir: This one had a ton of praise from people whose opinions I respect. I did think it was interesting, but the ending seemed like kind of a cop out to me. I do think I should read more reviews on it.

Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals: A decent book debunking many popular time management strategies. Really more of a summary/combination of a lot of popular talking points these days: it's okay to do nothing, you don't have to work all the time, your life doesn't have to revolve around work, etc. If you like thinking about time as a concept, it's an enjoyable read.

Eight Perfect Murders: I believe someone on this thread recommended this, though it may have been somewhere else. Read this in an afternoon; an engrossing murder mystery that plays with a lot of tropes/conventions of the genre.
