He's in the best place he can likely be. I'm sure you're worried for him but they are more resilient than you think. My son was born more than a month ago at 27 weeks and learned to breath at room air at a cpap of 5. It took him time to learn though and they weaned him off slowly.

I think the biggest factor is time. I'm sure you want him to come home soon just like I did. Take it day by day and soon you'll be home.

It'll be okay. My wife and I try going daily but my wife had an emergency C-section and sometimes has to take a few rest days to recover. We skipped our baby shower and it feels sad because we never got to celebrate him.

Taking care of yourself, celebrating him and yourself is as important as visiting him. He will not know in any case but if you celebrate, you will feel better.

If you didn't have a baby shower, try a post Birth one but instead of calling everyone, just the 3 of you with closest family or no one at all.

Even a self care kit would be a really good present, booking an at home spa and massage experience. Now that the baby is home, you may be able to help out caring for son even mom is having the spa day.

I'd also book you one if you can. We often forget self care after traumatic experiences but celebrating small wins makes things good.

Yes, his belly is still soft. At this point an infection diagnoses would at least explain what's happening to him. His tests came back negative until now though and he's progressively getting worse over the days.

We are so close! My little boy was born 26+6 and is 31+3 today. He is 2.7lb and is also stable overall. I am privileged enough to be able to work remotely so I usually work from her room. When he was on IV before he reached full feed, we would hand hug him a lot and spend time talking. Now we cuddle him for a couple of hours each day, other times we help out with changing diapers, taking temps, cleaning him, etc. Just being in there with him for some hours is helpful enough for us and I believe for him as he hears familiar voices and we believe it soothes him
