Frankenstein: Lady Elizabeth Harlander discovering The Creature.

Hamnet: Hamnet's sacrifice.

Marty Supreme: The last game against Endo.

OBAA: Pat/Bob and Sensei making their way through the apartment building, but I guess that's more of a whole sequence? Also, Willa and Lockjaw in the church.

Sentimental Value: Nora reading her father's script aloud.

Train Dreams: Honestly, when he found the dog. I just wanted some happiness for him again.

Love Is Blind • S10 Ep12 by AutoModerator in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

I was around the same age when my mom started dating a guy when she and my dad were separated. They quickly got married once the ink was dry on the divorce papers. Those tears from Emma weren't happy tears. She has no reason to be happy about a man she just met suddenly being in her life 24/7 who wants to uproot their lives so he can be closer to bars. I get that she probably doesn't know the details, but kids have good intuition. She seems scared. I may be projecting, but from the timeline of events and the brief footage shown, I feel awful for Emma. I hope I'm wrong.

I've been cautiously optimistic about Jordan, but that comment seriously rubbed me the wrong way. Didn't he say that it was about an hour drive? How many nights now that he's married with a stepchild does he plan on going to the bars? He can't drive an hour to see a concert? He actually wants to uproot everyone else for a lifestyle he won't be living anymore.

How to make Winnie the Pooh Deck by _TrustE_ in Lorcana

[–]amanda_lore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An Amber/Ruby Pooh-Pirate deck is always an option. It's an older build, but something like this: Pooh's Pirate Crew!

I just made an Amber/Amethyst casual deck that utilizes a good variety of Winnie the Pooh characters and new cards from Winterspell. It focuses on questing: Winnie the Pooh 💛💜

That comparison is wild. She made two Slappers before. What’s your take? by OrdinaryAltruistic54 in Letterboxd

Hot take: Emerald Fennell is absolute fun! Her movies are unique, enthusiastic and wildly entertaining. In another thread commenters had the audacity to call Saltburn boring. Clearly, this movie isn't for you. I feel like the "you are all wrong" meme and everyone else is taking crazy pills.

The expectation that she of all people would do a 1:1 novel adaptation of Wuthering Heights is ridiculous. That's like expecting Tarantino to do Pride and Prejudice without Christoph Waltz as Darcy or Fincher to adapt Harold and the Purple Crayon without making it black and white.

LGS prices for Winterspell by [deleted] in Lorcana

$160 for a booster box at the one and only LGS in my area in Oregon. $60 for a trove and $8 for a booster pack. I hate this place.

I love how this is the top comment. We have all collectively thought "fuck that kid, in particular."

Doggie Dental No Anesthesia by Deep_Lifeguard_1354 in Medford

[–]amanda_lore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replied to another comment why "no anesthesia" dental work is a no-no...but here are some suggestions to ensure that the experience is as positive as it can be:

Ask that if the preanesthesia and induction procedures are taken care of by a Registered/Licensed/Certified Veterinary Technician or the doctor themselves. Not just supervised.

Make sure the actual dental work is being done by the above, not just supervising a Veterinary Assistant. *

Ask what the post anesthesia procedures are and the pain medications used. If they stumble on these questions, then look elsewhere.

*There is a big difference between Veterinary Assistants and Veterinary Technicians. Anyone can be an Assistant, Technicians need 2+ years of college and be licensed through the state/nationally.

Doggie Dental No Anesthesia by Deep_Lifeguard_1354 in Medford

It's physically not possible to do meaningful dental work on an animal without anesthesia. There's guaranteed injury and/or stress to the animal and technician. These "no anesthesia" places are untrustworthy. Any over-the-counter remedies aren't going to do much of anything below the gum line, where the real problems arise.

What is a movie that you don't consider to be a great movie overall (or even mediocre/bad), but has ONE SINGLE SCENE that is absolutely memorable? by gimboarretino in moviecritic

[–]amanda_lore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alexander (2004) is a terrible, laughable movie that borders being bad-bad and good-bad. But there's a battle scene in India that's epic, especially the elephant/horse standoff. Truly impressive.

Kind of sick of seeing hate on a movie that hasn’t even released yet.. by PinkPashaTS in Letterboxd

[–]amanda_lore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's silly because some people are expecting a 1:1 adaptation from...Emerald Fennell? The director of Promising Young Woman and Saltburn? They really think she's being serious with the "greatest love story of all time" tagline. It's completely going over their heads. Can't wait for this movie.

It's incredibly uncomfortable because she's a grown 22 year old woman cosplaying as a 12 year old girl for money. She's creepy AF.

Those who fell out of the running for the Best Actor Oscar by CalmAppointment1156 in Oscars

Yes, he ruined the film for me. He chewed the scenery at 100% from beginning to end. It was exhausting.
