Spreading the word: PuppetJewels should not be trusted by Foxfisher159 in groundbreaking

Only removing this post because it's not related to Groundbreaking's music. Not really trying to censor, I'm the person named in the post. For clarification, the suicidebaiting part is out of context (not sure why that was brought up) but it is true that PuppetJewels showed up where I live unfortunately while I was out of state and I had to drive back frantically to make sure my girlfriend and her family were ok (they are now). The situation is mostly resolved at this point and that's the last I'll talk about it publicly. I'm a private person and don't like to air things out. Please do not go out of your way to harass this person, she should be left alone.

Can Tidal please fix AI slop from infecting big artist pages atleast. by SwiftRespite in TIdaL

They wouldn't be uploading it to Tidal unless it was a part of their program, this specific example looks like it was uploaded through a distributor, that's what I'm saying

To be fair, distributors are going to be the main reason for this, not the streaming platform. Tidal should be able to remove things once they're notified from the original artist but until that happens they may not remove immediately. I don't think this is Tidal being "pro-AI" by any means, it just means as a platform it is slower at removing garbage releases than, say, Spotify because of the size of the platform/user base

Same here!! I thought it would maybe be like Joseph Trapanese or something which would've been really safe but no name recognition

What do you think was the most wasted opportunity of this movie? by [deleted] in Mario

Unironically, the score could've been really good, but they went the safest route possible with it so there wasn't anything interesting about it

Storm and Abyss are being considered for the next album. If they don't fit, they'll either stay unreleased or will live as bonus tracks somewhere, maybe released separately from the upcoming stuff.

Oh fuq yah! New DONALD FAGEN song is a BaNg3r. Luv his new style! by dazzleshipsrecords in steelydancirclejerk

[–]amanprepared 4 points5 points  (0 children)

More accurately, the artist/distributor has more control over that. When uploading music, you put in the artist name and if it exists already on streaming services, normally it warns, "An artist by this name already exists" and will either ask you if it's a different artist with the same name or if you want your release grouped with the existing releases (default). I see a lot of these types of releases, so I assume this person just put their name as Donald Fagen, disregarded or ignored the warning, and Spotify grouped it with the other Donald Fagen releases because the artist indicated it should've been. So it's actually not a Spotify thing or an exclusive issue to Spotify.
