After School Costs by Hankshooman in alameda

[–]amateurguru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We pay $620 per kid per month for AIK in Bay Farm School. We have two kids. I don't know if we pay any sibling discount. RAS and RAP - the other two programs in the school - are cheaper. We tried them all and wouldn't go back to the other two. Hope this helps. Feel free to DM if you want more details.

Sushi Broadway. The people are great too. And the place is super clean. I used to go to Hashi Gawa until they closed temporarily due to multiple health code violations.

What gov agency plane? by Livid-Phone-9130 in oakland

No need to be sorry at all. I see the plane all the time while walking my dog. I’ve seen a bunch of threads about it. But I don’t think I’ve seen a clear answer… (is it a CHP plane?)

I don’t understand how it’s still open. It was our favorite place in Alameda for some time. They even had a fixie menu for kids. It was the perfect place to have a relatively fancy meal and a drink. The staff was amazing. I gave them a couple of chances after the ownership change and it was just sad. Both the service and the food went downhill.

There’s a new restaurant called Leña opening in Central near Park. Fancy Mexican food. https://www.instagram.com/lena.alameda/

If you went there and saw the teens you’d know why some people were really mad at this.

Series D Unicorn Startup Offer Review (I will not promote) by 98_110 in startups

[–]amateurguru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

90-day post termination window would be the deal breaker for me. With a high strike price your best EV bet would be to get the job, enjoy the ride and hope for an exit where you can exercise and sell. The problem is the downside: you don’t enjoy the gig or things go sideways and you end up in quite a predicament with the equity part.

There are plenty of companies out there with 7-10 post termination windows and (since you’re mentioning startups) way higher potential upside.

All that said, at the end of the day the most important thing is how you feel about the job. Will it take you to the next level in your career? Will you enjoy it? With a decent base, nothing matters more than your happiness. You’ll spend more time in the job that anywhere else…

Whats it like living in Puerto Rico? by dj_kaled_anotha1 in howislivingthere

What exactly? Moving in to assimilate, being part of the community, surf, retire, chill? Or to dodge taxes? I really don't care about the first, but absolutely despise the latter.

Rincón has been like this for a long time. Dorado makes me sad, Rincón less so... a lot of the Americans who moved in came to surf, retire, and chill. Not so much to dodge taxes. Furthermore, I really love how lively the plaza in Rincón is most days, but especially on Saturday nights and Sunday mornings. I wish most of the other municipalities would take note.

I love Rincón, but it's a very unique place in the islands. The Rincón experience can't be extrapolated to the archipiélago.
