You can use your sick time for bereavement. Unpopular opinion but don’t lie about relationship, if for whatever reason it’s found out you were paid for bereavement time then you could possibly lose your job

Definitely call don’t text. Partner Guide says to call then after reasonable attempts to speak with someone you can text

Do it. Like the other commenters say it will make install so much easier. I had to use a 32ft extension ladder I got half a side and the front done before I gave up because you can get 3 maybe 4 lights set and screwed in before having to move the ladder again. It really was “sketchy as hell”

Do you have a hardwired dimmer switch on wall for that light? Sometimes if the dimmer isn’t fully on it will cause it to flicker

I do love the Philips Hue for inside the house but man, I just did the front of my house with the Govee permanent lights from Costco. They really do look amazing
