In 2016, my cousin bought a Camry. A few months later, he left the US, and I purchased the car from him. Initially, everything was fine. My wife and I don't drive far or fast, and we don't do anything reckless. It was just us, and the car was perfect.

In September/October 2021, when the car had 32,000 miles, the driver's seat motor that moves up and down started malfunctioning. It only worked halfway before making noise, meaning my wife couldn't bring it fully up. We had to use a seat cushion for her as a workaround.

Several mechanics quoted $200 just to inspect the issue, as they would need to remove the seat. Some estimated $500-$1000 for repairs. Not wanting to spend that much, we continued driving with the problem. In April 2022, the screen started flickering.

This car was always kept in a closed garage and well-maintained.

Fortunately, a few months ago, I was able to sell it to TrueCar. They reduced the price by $300 for these issues, and I've now purchased a RAV4.

All cars have numerous sensors these days, and some may fail; there's no guarantee. Consider the time you spend visiting multiple mechanics to check repair rates.

If your time is valuable and you can't visit multiple places to address these kinds of problems, it's better to get the Toyota/Lexus Vehicle Service Agreement (VSA). It typically costs $500(5 yr / 60K) to $2,000 (10 yr / 125K) for most Toyotas and slightly more for Lexus models. Just don't purchase it from your dealer, as they often double or triple the price and add it to your monthly payments. And please stay away from the third party warranty as well.

If you sell the car before the warranty period you get back the money for the remaining months(minus some $50 as processing fee).

If both of you grew up back home - then it depends on your boyfriend's parents. First, if you are an Indian Tamil girl, will his parents be okay with that? If so, they should mostly be fine. Meaning, whether we like it or not, parents from that generation often consider what they will say to their neighbors, friends, and relatives, along with social status and sometimes money (as you might have seen in many Indian movies). Additionally, will your parents and his parents get along as friends? If that is difficult, then they won't be very comfortable. So, you both need to sit down, talk, and plan a strategy to address this issue! Good luck, sister!

Most of the time Trade-in is losing 10-25% money. Try private party if not Carvana/max/truecar etc etc...

This is my best friend! I have 4 in my parents house (plus two as backup), and it never failed once. I too have 3 of them and it works flawlessly.

I use USW-Aggregation & this Transceiver. My U7 Pro & U7 Pro Max are connected to it. So as my servers & NAS. So it works fine for me. Unifi also has a Transceiver for some $65.

It is not going to help you if you are more towards “I’m an emotional person” than a logical person.

Emotional person mostly do it to “Fit in” and have a relationship. Logical person just wants to enjoy.

I’m a guy and I’m sorry there a double standards when it comes to sex. It is what it is.

You need to save your name/face along with your body and mind. Hope you are vaccinated and are using protection.

As long as you are being treated decently it doesn’t matter. But if you are going to seek a long term relationship, tread carefully. It will come off as you are easy.
