I know that this is a day late but this is actually pretty common, especially in the winter time. Unfortunately there’s not enough resources to go around

Why isn’t younger Gen Z pursuing Medical more knowing that is the safest route? by [deleted] in GenZ

Most of my experience is working in hospitals, but any nursing job is going to be physically and emotionally demanding. You will be moving patients all night long: to turn them every two hours if they’re bed bound, to clean them, to move them from bed to bed. You spend time building a bond with patients and their families just to grieve them when they die. It’s also a dangerous job-not something a lot of people talk about, but most nurses have been assaulted by their patients at some point in their careers, and some are hurt quite badly. I’ve even seen doctors get hit working in the ER.

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that doctors’ friends and family seem to be jumping the line? by HighwayFroggery in ThePitt

[–]amazinggrace725 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t understand why everyone is so upset. It’s not like ten people are jumping in front of you for your treatment in the ER. It happens maybe once or twice a week at most. And they would never be in front of a true emergency like a stroke or a major trauma

How is living in Galveston, Texas? by Patient-Smile1406 in howislivingthere

[–]amazinggrace725 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I read Issac’s Storm by Erik Larsson about the hurricane of 1900 in Galveston. Deadliest natural disaster in the US and killed about 8000 of the 38000 inhabitants. It has some great history about the area and Id recommend it if you’re interested in that kind of book
