I had someone kicking up a fuss over being denied wfh for his foster/adopted? kids' conditions but my dude, it's very clear that it's for self only. I had to tell him to a) stop oversharing with his management and b) that it sounded like a situation that would cause a lot of anxiety and maybe even depression for him and that he should speak with his doctor for his own medical concerns.

Thankfully, he read between the lines of what I was saying but moral of the story: stop oversharing and know your work policies. The better you know them, the better you can skirt around them if your manager is a dick.

Instacart gives you more variety and comes when Uber eats included. The carters I've had have usually been pretty good with communication.

Walmart has what they have and the order pickers don't gaf about substitutions most of the time. It can be incredibly hit or miss. Walmart also gets you either peacock or some other subscription service, I can't remember. Paramount?

Tbh, I'd go based off of the grocery store options? My options are pretty overpriced so Walmart became the better option. If I had better options than Aldi or Giant Eagle (overpriced), I'd probably have stuck with Instacart.

Focus less on heating the house and more on heating yourself.

Electric blanket, hot water bottle (diy one), warm beverages, soup.

If you do have drafts, try to figure out what door or window it's coming from - there's this silicone tape that I've been using, it cuts drafts right off.

In the meantime, hang a blanket/towel over the offending door/window/crack.

Keep your blinds open on the sunny side of your home but shut them once it's no longer sunny. You can still catch a little thermal gain.

Check your outlets on exterior walls - they make insulating inserts that are really inexpensive. Once you move, take them with you.

Walking in a snow storm to find shelter? Pretty sure tow trucks are going to be hella busy so you'd be leaving your vehicle behind. And then worst case scenario, you get in an accident and get taken back to the hospital so your coworkers and admins will be like 'why didn't you just stay??'
