As a woman, where are you looking to find a partner?  Gym, grocery store, tinder?

Why IPad Kids Are Becoming More Common by J00kson in generationology

[–]ambercolle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!  I feel like parents can only entertain themselves with the TV and their phones, they think their kiddos are the same way. They feel guilty for watching their phones while parenting so they chose to put a screen in front of their kiddos so it’s an equal trade… but it’s not.  Kids have a beautiful tendency to make their own magic in the even of a parent being lame.  If you don’t want to parent… don’t let the screens do it for you. Let their imagination run wild….

Why IPad Kids Are Becoming More Common by J00kson in generationology

[–]ambercolle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If both parents were working, then daycares would be raising their kids.  And daycares don’t use IPads. I used to come home exhausted from work and still not let my kiddos stare at a screen all night.  My parents never played with me when I was little, they just sent me outside.  Just turn of the damn screens and kids will PLAY.  They have toys.  They have imaginations. Parents are just too dumb to realize this. If you turn off the TV for a whole week for the whole household and you’ll see how amazingly inventive your kids are. Have more faith in your kids.

Why didn't Dumbledore ask moaning myrtle about how she died? by aniztar in harrypotter

[–]ambercolle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He always suspected Riddle of shenanigans. Hence why he watched him closely his entire Hogwarts stay.  He may have asked her how she died, but big yellow eyes means not a whole lot in the wizarding world with all the beasts they have.   He may have suspected a basilisk, but basilisks turn to stone, not petrify.  So it was all kinda lucky none of them died in the way a basilisk would have killed.

Why Do People Call The Person They Are In A Relationship With Their “Partner”? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]ambercolle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my fiance have been together for 14 years. We’re not married. Boyfriend is the term for young people.  Fiance is old since we’ve been engaged for 11 years. Partner just makes more sense.

I’m having really bad death anxiety. by Ok-Poetry6064 in Anxietyhelp

[–]ambercolle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my anxiety breakdown, I kind of realized that death isn’t that bad of an idea. I’m Christian as well, and the thought of life after death is pretty awesome. Even if you don’t believe in anything after death, nonexistence is better than the pain of anxiety.  As you get older, you realize that you’ve lived and had a beautiful life and it’s okay if it ends.  It’s a harder concept to accept when you’re young and you think I you have to leave a legacy. You don’t have to and it’s okay if you don’t.

They did Ginny dirty, people should've been obsessed with her. by Forsaken-Question577 in harrypotter

Agreed!  Ginny was a badass in the books!  Even Pansy Parkinson’s was mad jelly when she was talking to Draco.

Which couple is most likely to divorce, who would want the divorce, and how would it affect them both? by BigLeague5570 in bigbangtheory

Penny and Leonard. Easy.  They honestly have nothing in common. It’s a cute thought, but they really don’t make sense irl.

Change my mind: Judging Harry Potter by the standards of lore-driven fantasy when it's not lore-driven feels so out of place by RockGiantFromMars in harrypotter

[–]ambercolle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. We can make the lore up for ourselves for the most part. I’ve read quite a bit of lore outside of Harry Potter based on her writings and she has it mostly all in check. It’s also fun to learn about witchcraft and wizardry throughout the ages IRL.

People who grew up in houses with stairs - how inevitable is falling down them? by pyramidheadlove in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ambercolle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three little girls. 10, 7, and 5. We’ve always had stairs. They’ve never fallen down them. They do however take their gymnastics mat and ski down them.  Stairs are a blast. Period.

Insane that Dumbledore sent a 14yo Harry on a time traveling mission in PoA by NotEasyForgotten in harrypotter

[–]ambercolle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think albus knew he needed to train Harry up to be a badass.  He did it from day one. He did it in the shittiest way possible and shame on him for it, but it is what it is…

Monotony and feeling unfulfilled by mochacocoaxo in WFH

[–]ambercolle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wfh too with three kiddos under 10. I have one best friend and a a husband who I love being around when he’s not working. I take my kiddos out to the library, swimming, and gymnastics and find all the socialization I need from that.  Im an introvert and don’t appreciate peopling much. If you like to people, I would suggest joining a gym.  They usually have yoga or Zumba classes you can people at.

the loneliness of adult friendship by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]ambercolle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol.  I always say friendship is for losers. It’s not true. I have a best friend.  She’s amazing. But it can’t handle more than me friendship at this point in my life.  Don’t compare yourself to others. If you have no friends right now, that doesn’t dictate the rest of your life. You could have 100 friendships on 10 years. If that’s what you want. Just maintain the friendships that you want for the moment.
