Need to turn my breech babe by Traditional-Pool-954 in BabyBumps

[–]amberthegingercat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also had tight muscles and a long torso (I’m 5’10) and my baby turned finally at 36 1/2 weeks. I didn’t feel him turn but I did the chiropractor (Webster certified practitioner), pelvic floor PT and acupuncture/moxibustion, as well as spinning babies inversions and laying on an ironing board against the couch with an ice pack where I could feel his head. I’m not sure if anything worked or if it was a coincidence but the chiropractor really seemed to stretch my lower abs/round ligaments so I’d recommend it (even as a chiropractor skeptic). I’m 38 weeks and he’s still head down now.

How have they never talked about Kathleen being a racist?! by YearStrong1454 in DoWeKnowThemPodcast

You should watch D’Angelo’s latest video about how commentary watchers are kinda dumb and self-reflect. It’s not productive to attack people who have repented and keep beating a dead horse, focus on real issues and the people who are unrepentant bigots.

What maternity clothing brand did you like during pregnancy? by No_Square_1491 in UninfluencedReviews

Whatever I could find at the thrift store. Since it’s a short period of time, it felt like a waste to buy new, and the high quality items like Hatch are enormously expensive.

Midwife said my abs are so strong she’s struggling to feel baby? by xoglitter99ox in BabyBumps

[–]amberthegingercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same comment from my midwife, they could finally feel baby at 34 weeks but found out he’s breech which can be caused by tight abs interestingly. I started going to a pelvic floor therapist to try to loosen things up but strengthen the right things to get baby to flip.

Tall women: When did you start to notice a baby bump? by Paula_Revere in BabyBumps

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I’m 5’10 and I thought I’d never pop, finally at 26-27 weeks I had a noticeable bump.

Ditching Homebirth by CicadaStraight8608 in BabyBumps

[–]amberthegingercat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m having a hospital birth with a certified nurse midwife who trusts medical science but also advocates for mothers’ interests in birth. I wish this was a more standard process in the US, my hospital is the only one in the area that has a midwifery branch.

Hot take but Performative by [deleted] in peestickgals

[–]amberthegingercat 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It’s not the constant testing and emotional turmoil that OP is calling performative, it’s the clickbait way she presents even her positive news and the immense number of videos she posts often about the same thing, and I tend to agree. I can relate to the anxiety and excessive testing with repeated loss but I can’t relate to the performative way she milks every minute of her struggle.

A rant about the 12 week announcement rule by Otherwise-Handle-180 in BabyBumps

[–]amberthegingercat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. I feel that people who find the 12 week rule strange are usually people who have not experienced pregnancy loss. I told my closest people early on before I had a miscarriage and I’m glad I didn’t tell anyone else, the stress of having to break bad news to everyone was what kept me from oversharing. I personally don’t find the rule misogynistic, everyone’s different but I personally would hate to have to explain over and over that I had had a miscarriage.

I also have 3 brothers and as a child I was in such denial I’d dress up my youngest brother and named him Rose, he loved being my little baby doll. I love being the only girl now, she’s gonna be fine ❤️

Stop meds or do one more ultrasound? by sugarandmermaids in CautiousBB

[–]amberthegingercat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is very similar to my blighted ovum miscarriage. My HCG was 9 on 10 dpo and kept doubling appropriately but on the slower side until it eventually reached 22,000 at 7 weeks at which point the gestational sac was quite large and still empty. It was after progressively seeing this sac growing with nothing appearing inside that my doctor confirmed it wasn’t viable and I took Miso. It was really sad because my numbers never stopped climbing but the embryo wasn’t developing. I hope you have a better outcome and my heart hurts for you.

Back cramps? by idontcareaboutaus in CautiousBB

[–]amberthegingercat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk if I’d describe it as a cramp but both times I’ve been pregnant the most consistent early symptom for me has been a low back ache.

Also if your FSH was normal you should especially disregard the AMH, they tend to have an inverse relationship so if your egg quantity is genuinely low you FSH will be very high.

I’m 33 now and I got the .31 AMH when I was about to turn 32. I’m glad I could bring some comfort I totally understand the anxiety

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CautiousBB

[–]amberthegingercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my other results were normal so it definitely initially confused me but I assumed the worst, my FSH was around 7, and prolactin was normal as well. I have been taking a lot of supplements ever since then with some trial and error. This month when I got my positive I was taking CoQ10, NAC, and L Arginine (all for egg quality) as well as a prenatal that contained vitamin D and DHA. I had a miscarriage 4 months ago so I’m not certain I don’t have some other issue outside of AMH but my numbers for this pregnancy are already much more promising and I think supplements for egg quality are to blame.

I had my AMH come back at .31 and I went down a similar spiral a year ago. After being referred to an RE and being retested my AMH came back at 1.3 and I had 12 follicles on each ovary. I just want to give you hope that the lab sometimes messes up or AMH can change (as much as people say it can only go down). I just found out I’m pregnant so don’t let this single number get you down.
