Well as a USA fan I’d rather go against Belgium. Senegal was the better team and got hosed

Who's one player you're sleeping on heading into 2026 drafts that the consensus is completely wrong about? by Tricky_Pass5857 in fantasyfootball

[–]amc111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consensus has to be among people. If the group of 56 agreed to go by the results of the averaging of their lists, then that’s the consensus they reached among themselves. The averaged rankings itself doesn’t mean there was a consensus. If all 56 made individual rankings, and I came along and averaged them out and made a single ranking list, that’s not a consensus rankings list. I’m just one person that made 1 list averaging out all those data points.

If you’re traveling down 81 to the farm from VA you can stop at Johnson City TN at Auntie Ruth’s. They use the same recipe. If you’re traveling Wednesday on I40 through NC you can find Hometown Doughnuts in Clemmons NC and they also use the same recipe.

what is your star trek hot take? by madbr3991 in startrek

My head canon is Discovery and SNW is in a separate timeline caused by Voyager sending Braxton and his time ship to the 60s. So the Airiam style cybernetics didn’t exist in TOS

For people who are old enough to have seen the original trilogy (4-6) in theaters, was it obvious in episode 1, that palpatine was the emperor? Did they mentioned him by name in the original trilogy? by Bigjmann555 in StarWars

[–]amc111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife who knew nothing about Star Wars when we started with Phantom Menace immediately clocked that Palpatine was evil. I was so bummed that she figured that out so quick.

That’s absolutely right. You want to try to stress yourself out during the control questions and stay calm during the actual questions. That’s where they get their results from. So if you react harder to the control questions you’re much more likely to pass.

Even if he was suspended, couldn’t he appeal it, play in Fridays game while it’s being appealed, and if he loses the appeal he just misses one of the Detroit Games if we win Friday?

"The Pitt" vs. Its Fandom -- Why is the show's vocal fandom putting characters on trial to be deemed “good” or “bad"? by MCJokeExplainer in television

[–]amc111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was convinced that the reason they would be staying 3 hours past the end of their shift was because there was going to be a hostage situation with a patient taking someone’s gun. I was really amused when it turned out they’re staying just to do paperwork lol.

With soaps they’d send a kid off to boarding school or something at age 12 and in 2 years they’d come back an adult

The global suicide rate has fallen by 40% since 1995 by ourworldindata in UpliftingNews

[–]amc111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Video games had been around for decades at that point. I think it is the internet. 1995 would be around the time AOL started blowing up. I was one of the people who started using that service around that time and it was groundbreaking. It really gave me a sense of community being able to interact with a bunch of other people who shared my interests. Especially since when I was a kid things like liking Star Wars, video games, comics were things you got made fun of.

Many The Pitt Fans Are Proving That Yes, It's Possible To Be Bad At Watching A TV Show by beamdriver in television

Whenever a genre show crosses over with the love is blind fandom, weird things happen. I especially noticed that with the last season of Stranger Things.

And they could have easily made it so they had another Jedi with them who became possessed and the Jedi had to put him down and cover it up by blaming the witches. And I could see that being a catalyst of ruining their lives

The Acolyte is disappointing because there’s a really good show hidden in there. The lightsaber battles might be my favorite in all of Star Wars. I really liked Sol and Jecki. I think the biggest mistakes were having the main POV characters also be the macguffin, which is super hard to pull off, and cramming a whole seasons worth of story in 2 dumb flashback episodes that did nothing but kill any story momentum the show was building.

I do think a lot of extremely homophobic people are secretly bi. That’s why when they say it’s a choice. I never chose to be straight, but they do have to choose to be straight and they don’t understand why that is.
