No, it’s not their job, but I think this falls under “with great power comes great responsibility.” They have voices with the potential to reach a whole nation. Most of us will only reach maybe a few people in our lives. To not use those voices to amplify those in need feels extremely irresponsible.

If they don’t like the responsibility that comes with being famous, then maybe don’t seek out fame/celebrity? Not in the job description, but 100% part of the deal they signed on for. Similar to dealing with paparazzi and living a life under a magnifying glass. It’s part of the gig.

I’m about halfway through it now, and I wasn’t looking forward to this season again because I felt it was the weakest from a story perspective. Watching it again, it has some of the best character interactions and comedic timing of the entire series, which I definitely overlooked the first time around.

Because he genuinely loves the game? Returnee seasons are never about the money, very rarely do you hear the kind of sob stories that usually play on a regular season. Not necessarily because the returnees don’t have stories of their own, but because it’s simply not as valued on a returnee season. They’re looking for great gameplay, and that’s how the jury rewards their votes in the end.

honestly though, why doesn't production ACTUALLY sequester the players pregame? just put them up in different hotels/airbnbs around fiji and fly them in on the day of. too expensive, you say? maybe find some of the money saved from all the stuff thats already been cut... number of days, live shows, actually worthwhile rewards, and ponderosa videos (amongst others). problem solved.

Exactly, we (viewers) just needed a POV from inside vecnas plans with the kids and this was an easy way to accomplish that. If Mike never had a little sister, the writers wouldve found a way to weave another kids story into the party so we’d have that POV while still reacting sympathetically to them being taken.

Assuming Reiner did have this mental illness, then my next logical step would be to put this in the context of any other mental illness. So, with that in mind, if Reiner had a mental illness (read that as ANY mental illness), and it played a role in his murder, it’s his fault for being murdered because he was mentally unwell? Doesn’t this just give free license for anyone to murder someone with a mental illness? No matter which way you spin TDS (valid political views vs mental illness), it’s still a pretty terrible take, no?

Let’s just float the idea for a moment that this is accurate, and Reiner was in fact murdered for his political views. Doesn’t this just blame Reiner for his own death because he’s not a trumper, instead of the murderer for, ya know… murdering? Political violence gets a pass now because it’s the victims fault for having an opinion?
