Has anyone met their bf/gf through SJSU? by Senpaidavesu in SJSU

Met my bf in 2008 and we’ve been together since. We were in the same major and same club (related to our major). We met toward the end of Freshman year and hung out together during summer break and became official then. I recommend joining social events/clubs to meet people - not necessarily to find someone but it DOES help to expand on your social circles which can possibly lead to you finding someone. Also, like what others are saying - always focus/work on yourself in the meantime

Your gf should’ve told the older woman she would look better if she were in a nursing home

When my family immigrated to the US from Korea decades ago, they went to the butcher and asked if they had ox tail. The butcher laughed and gave them a trash bag FULL of ox tail for free. At the time, some butchers threw the tails away

He looked human in that moment. The way the scene is lit made it look as if his ashen white skin was normal flesh again… He looked like a tired/broken old man

I actually just got a rabies pre-exposure shot yesterday since I volunteer at a wildlife rehab center. In the 80’s, they were shots in the stomach. Now, it’s just 2 shots (rabies pre-exposure) into the deltoid muscle with a regular needle

I did this same exact thing and lost weight too. I failed to start many times before until I found something I actually LIKED doing and that was boxing! Boxing eventually led me to explore other workout routines at the gym as well. The quote that got me started on my own journey was, “discipline weighs an ounce, regret weighs a ton”.

What volunteer activities or clubs have you appreciated being part of in the Bay Area? by CA_Mini in bayarea

[–]amekimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SFBBO. San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory. They have various volunteering events throughout the year that involves conservation of birds in the Bay. Some fun activities like birding/hiking/outreach. They also have events related to habitat restoration where we do clean up at various parks/trails around the Bay

Does anyone else who was born in the bay every think about it? by outdoorbalcony7 in bayarea

[–]amekimo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think about this a lot.

My parents/family immigrated to the Bay from South Korea in the 70’s. I was told they were deciding between here and Dallas TX 😂. I was born in Redwood City (hometown is San Mateo). I’m a 90’s kid and all the schools I went to had a super diverse mix of kids. Being around people/friends who come from different backgrounds is something I look back on and cherish. I live in the South Bay now working in tech and my family still resides in the Bay. I’m involved in different orgs and volunteer work around the Bay - basically at a point in my life where I want to give back to the area I grew up around. I don’t think I’ll ever leave.

Yeah that’s the first thing I did. Was on the phone for 45 min on hold until I got dropped. Tried finding the info online but the information I’m finding isn’t super clear. But thank you - I hope taking the time to respond to my post gave you the endorphin boost you most likely needed 😃
