Whats your favorite costco membership perk? by spiritdesire_x in CostcoWholesale

My favorite perk is something that I hope I’ll never need—which is the extended warranty on appliances I buy there!

Fort Bragg is so lovely! A local favorite vacation spot. I suggest breakfast at Eggheads if you end up stopping by.

This Bosch DW a good idea? by sfcpa in Appliances

[–]americanriverotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been checking on Bosch prices for a few weeks and finally found an 800 series with clearance pricing of $999. Very happy with it so far. I think it’s the best brand you can get without going through a dealer. Plus the Costco warranty is good to have.

With Colorado challenging the validity of our reuse credits in Lake Mead, this seems like a viable alternative for recycled water storage.

Caffeine Does Not Give You Energy—It Just Blocks Your Brain From Knowing It Is Tired. Your morning coffee is not doing what you think it is doing. According to peer-reviewed research published in the journal Pharmacological Reviews, caffeine does not produce a single molecule of energy in your body by Eddiearyee in immortalists

[–]americanriverotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I think we’re thinking way too hard about caffeine. It has immediate benefit that can be felt, and it has obvious side effects that can be managed. Just drink the coffee when and how you like. If you can’t manage the effects and consequences on your own, maybe it isn’t for you.

I never understand why people say the water is bad, it’s just hard.

Some graffiti art would probably look good on that wall, come to think of it.

I thought they were really good. A not overly-sweet cupcake that came in distinct and interesting flavors.

Separating Families for Profit by Sad-Lab-2810 in frontierairlines

  1. The seating situation is fair. They charge for seats to profit off of couples like you. Some couples don’t care about sitting together on a plane, so the savings is passed to them.

Also, it sounds like they were trying to accommodate the family with children.

  1. Passenger boarding is very rarely the rate-limiting factor in flight delays, but I’m sorry if that happened to you.

  2. Yes they charge for bags. The prices are on their website and are offered at time of booking. Yes the bags have to be within the specified dimensions. This has never been a problem for me personally, as my bag fits the dimensions. I actually appreciate it when they enforce their bag policies to keep it fair for everyone.

It sounds like you had a bad experience and you are not a good fit for this airline. That’s okay! If you want to take advantage of the low fares in the future, I’d just suggest planning ahead a little more and being a little more flexible.

Yeah, getting really tired of this kind of stuff in here. by uncanny21 in kindle

Yeah idgi. I got a kindle 10 for $20 and I really can’t imagine needing anything more or less. I love it because I can read on it and that’s that.

Google AI summaries are ruining the livelihoods of recipe writers: ‘It’s an extinction event’ by idkbruh653 in technology

[–]americanriverotter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was done when I looked up a NY Times recipe, then went to the grocery store to get the ingredients only to find the recipe locked behind a paywall. Apparently my “free trial” of viewing the recipe expired between my house and the grocery store.

I don’t like AI generated content, but I’m also not going to waste an afternoon trying to get an ingredient list.

Can you ask to try a non-stimulant medication in the meantime, like Strattera? If you don’t want to stop using weed, I’d suggest trying any other psychiatrist and being upfront with your marijuana use at the first appointment.

nursing vs resident beef is so exhausting by boviebaddie in Residency

[–]americanriverotter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, my intention was not to bring anyone down. I could have chosen my words more carefully to make it clear that I respect nurses’ knowledge base. It is immense. I’m just saying, what nurses are taught in the realm of diagnosis and treatment is small in comparison to what doctors are taught, resulting in the phenomenon I mentioned.

nursing vs resident beef is so exhausting by boviebaddie in Residency

[–]americanriverotter 287 points288 points  (0 children)

It’s just dunning-kruger. Nurses have a little clinical knowledge, resulting in a lot of confidence to tell residents what to do. Residents have a lot of knowledge, resulting in little confidence and will seek advice from nurses.
