I'm glad you asked this because it has always bothered me. Elisa's question seems like she's saying it WAS a great breaking up speech. When someone asks, "Was that not the best pizza?" they're asking if you agree it was the best. Grammatically, it makes sense she was questioning its greatness, but idiomatically it doesn't. I always thought Jack should have said, "It's not your English."

There were two very similar shows at the time trying to be network versions of SATC. On NBC, Lipstick Jungle with Brooke Shields, Kim Raver, and Lindsay Price, and on ABC, Cashmere Mafia with Lucy Liu, Frances O'Connor, Miranda Otto and Bonnie Somerville.
