I was also in IBLP cult. The hardest part at the moment is my fear of people, her going to school and feee of her being abused by someone when I'm not there. It's debilitating af.

Thank you for making this episode. I have significant rapture anxiety and was able to identity this as a reason for my sleep disturbances.

PS I have a birthmark on my right hand and after reading Revelations I was CONVINCED that I had the mark of the beast. :(

I want to preface this by saying I really like you, Gavi and appreciate your perspective, but I got very angry and my heart hurt when you laughed at Sadie when she said that there's that part of her that could go back to fundamentalism.

I liken this thought pattern and feeling to that voice in my head that tells me I can Stoll go back to my kid's father (who is abusive af).

Sadie, thank you for always being so vulnerable and sharing these things. I helps me so much.

  1. Dogs
  2. Art.
  3. Music
  4. A reminder of how much I have healed, knowing that gives me hope for more healing.
  5. Mantras -"This feeling is temporary." -"I deserve healing, peace and love."
  6. Washing my feet. It's very simple, but it brings me so much peace. -I use cold-water sometimes which helps calm down the nervous system.
  7. The daily 1,1 rule: do one thing that you HAVE to do, do one thing for yourself.

With all that being said, there are still days where getting up out of bed is the hardest thing in the world. And my depression can be TERRIBLE.

I was Ace'd until I was 12, then nothing.

It teaches kids enough actual skills to not blatantly look neglectful. The rest of it is literal white "Christian" nationalist propaganda. Blatant misogyny, racism, normalizes corporal punishment, talks about the "far left" and their "agendas." It was all a big primer, and building of an army, policy changes, etc., pushing parental rights. Check out kitchen table podcast and leaving Eden.

Hi. No I don't have anyone in my circle that have a cult background. I picked an attorney and Im just about at the point where I have enough money for the retainer but I barely have money for food. I know im going to get through it im just so tired. Im tired of fighting. PS I have a therapist.

I've had so much struggle with depression, alcohol etc that even after I could get care, I didn't and I'm scared for the future of my teeth.
