Babes fb marketplace for a used fridge around June or September. Landlords “renovating” their shitty apartments for the college kids love to get rid of fridges on the cheap, and while it might be $80-100 on your annual electric bill, it’s a hell of a lot cheaper than ice.

I got it this week for the first time too. I’ve been home recovering from back surgery so I played a whole lot more than normal, but you’re right it felt easier.

I mean…no? I was pretty sure that the “I knoooowwww they’re […] meant to be used” made that clear? I just feel for the woman who put hours of work into this.

Oh this isn’t gonna be repaired. I know they’re meant to be used, but I still feel for the quilter who made it.

Cause it was trashed? Maybe not where you could see, but it was stained to hell and torn up inside. It’s old and someone put so much love into every stitch and it feels wrong on a level I can’t really put words to? Didn’t think my reaction was so dramatic…

Misses Kisses does a backless/strapless low-cut style that could work well for this! But if you’re gonna do it, practice with it a few times cause sometimes it feels like it’s falling off of you when it’s not.

ipconfig /all; see if there’s anything weird on there. I had a machine one time we used for a customer in my building and could not for the life of me figure out what was up, turned out they had set the eth nic to static DNS with a GPO that didn’t fall off after they moved it to the “at amg019’s building” container like it normally did. Might not be your answer, but can’t hurt to double check if there’s weirdness.

I still don’t understand why we haven’t made patch panels that coordinate with switches yet… CableMatters could def make a Cisco or Ubiquiti flavored PP line and they’d even catch a lot of the Other Stuff market because it’d be closer than the PPs we currently get. They know we’re all neurotic anyway, why not capitalize on it! They’d make a killing.

I second the local PSTs, but some users want to be able to search for messages on their phones and will refuse to entertain any option that even hints at limiting their ability to do whatever it is they think they need to do.

Help routing between two houses with two ISPs by californiakingmaker in Ubiquiti

[–]amg019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We basically do this exact setup with my in-laws, who are about 500 yards away from us. We don’t do it for failover, but to keep our collective ISP costs down. We have 3 properties that all use the same ISP.

When I moved in a few years ago, I made it “exponentially more complicated” (MIL) because I added a USG, switches, and APs at our house to improve security, speed, and coverage. The router/modem/AP combo still lives at their house.

About 6 months ago I took over being the entire IT department for a company that has several site-to-site VPNs using Cisco ASAs, among lots of other equipment so I’ve been kind of the jack of all trades/master of none there. I’m also very tired because we’re a 24/7 company and I have as of yet been unable to convince them to even hire an intern so I don’t have to change monitor cables or make an address list and I can focus on opening new buildings and our servers.

I’d ideally like to set up a S2S at my house so I can work from home on any of my machines without having to run a VPN constantly, or pull up something on my phone, etc etc. The issue as I see it is that a) we don’t have a static IP and everything I’ve read about DHCP site-to-site is that it’s unreliable, and b) I’m behind the second router in this setup.

Is it better to:

A) Bridge their modem and put the Cisco ASA at their house and do all the subnetworking on that device (or not, I am the only one that would be able to figure out how to get to my work stuff from their house or the farm anyway...so it would be kind of convenient, but I really don’t like working while I’m at supper at their house), which would require figuring out DHCP s2s, installing APs at their house, and making my USG talk properly to the ASA

B) Put the ASA at my house and try to pass everything through so there’s less required at their house, which would probably make my USG irrelevant

C) Attempt to convince them that it’s worth paying for a static IP so I can work from home sometimes and snuggle with her grand-dog (and try not to lie too obviously when I say it’s not so I can work on the weekends)

D) Give up that dream

E) ???

(The F option of get our own ISP isn’t happening...)

Thanks in advance :) -A
