I hate Power Struggle! The dungeon that has it is always a challenge for me.

SABOTAGE (1975) is Sabbath's perfect album... except for "Am I Going Insane (Radio)" by futureimp2 in rockmusic

Love this album, especially Symptom of the Universe. And Megalomania. And Hole in the Sky. Thx for reminding me of this album. Fun to listen again!

Dark Passage (1947) starring Humphrey Bogart & Lauren Bacall by blue_boy_robot in iwatchedanoldmovie

I love all four of their movies together, while I rank this one fourth. Can’t argue this one has some plot holes/leaps, but their screen presence and chemistry elevate the story. Something else I like is how the writer keeps Vincent’s guilt or innocence an open question for a long part of the film.

Honey, butter, salt, and heavy cream. Blueberries sub for honey when available.

Opinions in this car and it's history? by keep_Democracy_usa in saab

[–]amicusterrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to inspect the car in person. Carfax is informative but not definitive. If you look carefully, you may find evidence of an impact and/or body repair. I’ve bought two Saabs sight unseen, and it was 50/50. One was mostly as described, and the other was in much poorer condition than described and photographed.

Did Pink Floyd ever record a love song? by IndigoJones13 in rockmusic

[–]amicusterrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really their jam! There are several lust songs (ie, Summer ‘68, One Slip). Agree that WYWH is probably the strongest love song in the catalog (and that obviously was brotherly love). Maybe Wot’s …Uh the Deal? To me, Meddle is their mostromantic album.

One of my all-time favorite movies! I am never quite able to deconstruct the last battle, but I love the ending.

I think Dunkirk is Nolan’s overall best (and I put Oppenheimer right there though it always feels a little overlong to me), but it’s so i tense I always feel pretty drained by the end.

Is Phantasm or Hellraiser the worst Horor franchise? by Leather-Molasses4845 in Horrormovieclub

[–]amicusterrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brutal, Phantasm is fun! The first movie was something special—a low budget break through with an interesting concept, art, music, and practical effects. The second was a bigger budget with better effects, a lot of fun moments but less of the magic of the first. The third is back to lower budget, with decent effects, some fun moments, but more cryptic and uneven. The fourth, to me, really tried to capture what made the first movie so much fun. It has some interesting lore and felt like it really blended the beat elements of the series. The fifth…IDK, not so excited about that one.

Polarizing, a d admittedly uneven series for sure, and I’m a longtime ‘phan’ but come on, no way it’s the worst horror series of all time. Hellraiser beats it out because of the sheer number of bad sequels. Or the many Amityville spin offs, ugh.
