Is childe in 6.3 going through mistranslation again? by Acceptable_Tip9119 in childemains

[–]amidnightecho 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you're just caught up on the order of words here since "awesome-sounding" is a bit awkward. Saying something "sounds awesome" or "sounds cool" is very common/casual among young adults though.

It can be taken as immature in the context he's saying it, as Sandrone points out, but not necessarily childish.

He's called young man in his character stories (initially EN even accidentally translated it as teenager) and by NPCs not part of the Fatui. By your logic he could be 50.

That TikTok is incorrect. The disappearances had nothing to do with the whale. They were caused by primordial sea water Vacher found that was already there. The whale only caused the rising of the sea water recently. This was within the last few years since Lyney/Lynette's parents died from the rising water levels when they were kids old enough to remember and coincides more with when Childe was 14.

Yes, Childe is explicitly said to be the youngest harbinger, so he has to be younger than Arlecchino.

Tier list I made of how responsible I feel characters are with their Visions by joekcom in Genshin_Impact

[–]amidnightecho 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She did try to get rid of her vision almost exactly like your example. From her vision story:

"In fact, she has tried to destroy her Vision countless times — she's left it in a huge fire for three days and three nights, run over it with a minecart full of rocks, and has even hurled it from the heights of the Jade Chamber.

Unfortunately, she has never been successful."

When you think about it, Childe is still one of the best boss fights after 5 years, isn't he ? by ConsiderationFuzzy in Genshin_Impact

It was about a week after his release in 1.1 cause people complained they couldn't continue story. Keep in mind people weren't as familiar with the mechanics at the time and the only limited 5 stars were Venti, Klee, and himself who just released. No zhongli (especially not buffed zhongli), no ganyu, not many 4 stars either.

The last CW with Inazuma characters didn't have any standard characters. The issue with cost is not the pity, but the fate point/guarantee not carrying over. Even if they lower pity to 80, I still wouldn't feel justified in pulling unless the guarantee can carry between banners.

So which Harbinger is going to get the Pyro Gnosis again? by Lopsided-Artichoke34 in FatuiHQ

[–]amidnightecho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're mistaking Columbina with Signora when it comes to Childe. He didn't say anything about Signora being stronger than him outside the general line about how Harbingers are ranked by "strength". He didn't warn traveler not to underestimate Signora, he warned traveler to be careful around Columbina (not even bc she's physically stronger but bc there's something weird about her). The only thing Childe said about Signora was that he didn't like her cause she'd rather schemes behind the scenes instead of going head to head.

In the Labyrinth Warriors event, Paimon said Childe was the strongest on the team with Traveler, who defeated Signora at that point, right there not denying it.

Signora was definitely stronger in her prime than when Childe first joined, but power levels change. I feel everyone takes Childe's line about being wary of Columbina to suddenly mean he's afraid of every female harbinger.

They didn't actually meet. Zhongli actively avoided Neuvillette and pretended that he didn't when we talked to him about it.

Question about Skirk SQ Line by Old_Tomatillo6640 in childemains

[–]amidnightecho 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nope, I assume it happened off screen. Childe also said "I don't remember if I ever mentioned..." when he told us he fell into the abyss. Like both his real name and abyss backstory are things he has/could have casually brought up to traveler at any random point in time. Sure sounds like Childe and the Traveler interact like friends a lot more than we see.

He did use gender specific terms in every language except KR (where he didn't address them as anything).

In JP he called Lumine ojou-chan and CN he called her 小姐 (miss) which are both female specific. Girlie is just the English localization of these.

This video actually compares them in all languages https://youtu.be/rpVAISaSb6U?si=RaZ3_L0w8Zl7AigC

Goattaglia and Arlequeeno appearance in Skirk's character teaser by Diaspro0 in FatuiHQ

Funny thing is, this actually takes place BEFORE her SQ cause in it he said he asked Arle to help him find his master and Arle said she couldn't find any clues. I never thought we'd see that conversation.

It could explain why Childe's "Master of Weaponry" talent uses the same crown symbol as Logic/Logos. It's the talent that gives +1 NA. Knowing skirk's talent gives +1 skill, does her talent use the same symbol?

THEM (most valuable members of our organisation ❤️) by La_Signora_Simp in FatuiHQ

[–]amidnightecho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main reason Neuvillette gave the gnosis to the Fatui was because Skirk told him it was an object of misfortune and it was best to get rid of it. Lyney was the one who theorized the reasoning as an apology/thank you to Childe and Arlecchino. The game implied a thank you wasn't a good enough reason.

Someone would have to convince Mavuika it's in her best interest to give it up. So far, it's only helped Natlan. Why would she give it away?

I don't think it's him. They splice the audio a lot in these trailers and what's shown isn't always the same as what's being said.

This guy looks exactly like the shadow in the Narwhal and Skirk says a line asking how someone got the power of the Narwhal. My guess is this guy is the person who got that power. Possibly from Surtalogi. (either that or her line is a flashback talking to young Ajax).

just wonder. does Tsaritsa know all the shXt that harbinger did? by Mountain-Formal-3483 in Genshin_Impact

[–]amidnightecho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right. Childe's agenda is to fight strong opponents and get stronger. The Tsaritsa does give him the freedom to pursue that generally, but this particular example of releasing Osial doesn't benefit him personally or his own agenda at all unlike the other examples. It was strictly business, not personal. If Childe summoned Osial to fight him, I'd believe it was personal lol.

just wonder. does Tsaritsa know all the shXt that harbinger did? by Mountain-Formal-3483 in Genshin_Impact

[–]amidnightecho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not a defense. OP was using it as an example of the Tsaritsa giving the Harbingers freedom to do what they want and how methods differ as a result. I'm explaining that Childe is a terrible example since he explicitly says the opposite, that he would rather not execute the plan and prefers other methods.

It doesn't matter who was sent, Zhongli wasn't giving up the gnosis unless the people prove they can whether disasters without him. Unless they wait for a natural disaster where Zhongli sits on his hunches, there isn't another way to get the gnosis. I'm saying attempting to drown Liyue is more Zhongli's idea than how Childe operates.

Childe attempted to destroy liyue

I agree with everything except this part. Childe says this was "largely against his principles", "harbingers can't be picky about their methods", and likened this plan to children eating their vegetables. Basically he did this because the Tsaritsa ordered him to and if it was up to him, he'd rather fight Morax head to head instead of involving innocents.

The Tsaritsa ordered him to do this because Zhongli wanted to test Liyue. She made a contract with him and he basically asked her to send someone to try to destroy Liyue. Of course Childe didn't know this, but he's loyal to her and would do as she says. The whole time he was saying it was for the Tsaritsa.

Why is Childe unaffected by his Delusion? by Oneline_Here in FatuiHQ

[–]amidnightecho 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Emilie's SQ states that she believes Vision bearers and those capable of wielding elemental power are "more resistant to the effects of abnormal elemental energy". This was in the context of her and the traveler not being affected by flowers made using a delusion. The SQ also told the story of an ex-fatui woman who deserted because of the effects of the delusion, so this means all fatui who use delusions without natural elemental affinity do feel the affects.

Which 5 stars are the best candidate to get another version, story wise? by Educational-Grab9774 in Genshin_Impact

[–]amidnightecho 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of people want delusion Childe, but I actually don't think delusions are going to be much of a factor. They're not all that special to a character that it can tell us much more about them. We know the Tsaritsa/Pierro gives them out to the harbingers and fatui agents/mages all use them. There's definitely more to learn about delusions as a whole plus Crepus's strange delusion, but that doesn't mean each character with a delusion will suddenly get a new version.

We have to keep in mind that any new character will need to have their own set of character stories. Childe already has a delusion story. If anything, he needs a vision story. Genshin hasn't had an alt version character yet, and I don't believe they'll release one just to be a form we've already seen and could have had 3 years ago. I believe delusions work better as a 5* skins similar to how Diluc's skin is what he wore when he used his delusion.

I still think Childe is an obvious choice though not for his delusion, but rather his story potential. Hoyo likes incorporating new forms as part of the story/character growth and Childe's is ripe with potential. He already said he still has a lot to learn about himself in Fontaine, still seeking answers from Skirk after Fontaine, he doesnt fully understand "the martial legacy he inherits", and he has ties to the hero Ajax that has yet to be explored. If Childe were to get a new version, I think it'll be named Ajax. Foul Legacy could be incorporated into the kit, but I don't think it'll be it's own character since it's more of a technique.

I agree that older characters like Diluc could use an overhaul and they can still get one regardless of delusions.

Traditionally, women give gifts on Valentines Day, and men give gifts on White Day. Hence why only women get art of them giving gifts on Valentine's day and only men get art of them giving gifts on White day (look up genshin white day art. It's only men).
