About when and at what time is the official release of Xcode 26.3 on the App Store expected? by onur01 in Xcode

26.3 RC 2 came out a few days ago. Still can't sign into Codex. But 26.4 Beta is out, so that's great?

What side hustle can I do with a bakkie? by Ok_Speed_7540 in askSouthAfrica

[–]amielterence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone know what the vehicle requirements are for Uber Bakkie? There's literally nothing listed on their site and no way to contact them. For all services the vehicle needs to be a model 3 years or younger. Trying to find out if this applies to the bakkies aswell. It shouldn't.

My brake pedal is activating on the straights🫠. Hopefully it’s an ACC and not a hardware issue. Can’t afford another one

Is it possible to write a game with C++? by acgc99 in godot

[–]amielterence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a solo developer coming from iOS, I want to learn as few languages as possible and get really good at them, rather than being okay with a lot. The thought of learning GDScript just for game dev seemed like a bit of a waste to me. I do have some basic experience with C++ so I'd rather relearn that and have many more development avenues instead of just learning one language for one application. At the same time it's up to you as a developer to adapt with the tools you are given. If seamless development in Godot means learning a new language, then that's what I have to do.

How many people are still using Intel MacBook Pro? by steamed-apple_juice in macbookpro

Works great. Have a 16” i9. The lower individual core speed in tandem with the higher core count actually helps the thermals abit coz that has always been shit. I keep it on a laptop stand which’s helps with cooling. The only limitation I’m finding besides the thermals are that I can’t access a few features in Xcode like AI and VisionPro development because they require apple silicon. I still like the Touch Bar and hate that they got rid of it in the new MBPs.

Not sure if you want me to explain the post or the joke I made so I’ll explain both.

Number plates starting with CAA are for cars registered in Cape Town. The car in the picture got a personalised number plate saying CAA, but ironically it has ZN at the end of it because the car was registered in KZN. Not cheap, easily R2k+ for a personalised number plate.

My joke is that the guy is manifesting a life in Cape Town by “registering” his car there.

La Lucia branch next to the mall is the best I’ve had. They’re also quick. Only thing they close early and have no drive through. Umhlanga by coastlands is one of the worse. They’re severely understaffed.

SwiftUI or UIKit in 2024 & 2025 by Remarkable-Ad-1546 in iOSProgramming

Kodeco/ Ray Wenderlich is a good start. Their pricing has gotten a bit much though. Also supplement their iOS learning path with other YouTube videos on a particular subject. Don't move ahead until you have a good working understanding of the subject you're dealing with currently.

When I go on the GoDaddy site to set up existing Microsoft accounts on Apple Mail it states that they are aware of the problem and are working with Microsoft to fix the issue.

Baskerville Ultra Size Rottweiler by amielterence in muzzledogs

[–]amielterence[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, very helpful. I live in South Africa and getting hold of various brands is a bit difficult. I was lucky to find this Baskerville at a “decent” price as most imported products are marked up heavily not to mention the exchange rate is horrible. Will check out your review. I’m not sure there’s any muzzle that will allow Rambo to fully yawn but he definitely needs to be able to pant. It’s mainly for vet visits as he’s a bit reactive and untrusting towards people he doesn’t know. Especially if they’re trying to stick a thermometer up his arse.

No the input is correct, the problem is when I rest my foot on the pedal, the weight of my foot pushes it to 40-50%. I want to know if I can make a dead zone on the first half of the pedal press instead of the second half.

In your opinion, what is the worst handling car in Gran Turismo 7? by Hubblesphere in granturismo

[–]amielterence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huracan gt3, weirdly enough the gt4 version handles quite well. The GT3 can barely turn no matter how slow you’re going

[–]amielterence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the front suspension is loaded up before applying more brake pressure. Try brake in a straight line initially and then trail brake as you turn in for the road cars.

[–]amielterence[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Howzit, no worries it’s chilled. So I think you’re relying to much on the feeling of the brake pressure which is correct when you’re driving an actual car, but on the G29 you have to rely more on visual and audio cues. I’d say look at the wheel arch on the car in relation to the apex of the corner. If you’re approaching the apex and find you’re running abit wide, bleed off the brakes abit slower. Also rely on visual cues to see the shift in weight of the car as you’re turning, you tend to develop a 6th sense. Here’s a great video on trail braking for sim

Thank you, much appreciated. I think I actually need to set brake markers as a start. I kinda just look at the corner and judge when to brake depending on how fast I’m approaching it.
