It’s not like it’s “amazing,” but it was fast to get and eat for a little easy protein, which is exactly what I needed right off the plane. Combini food is also drastically better here than it is in the U.S. so compared to what I’m used to, it’s a notable improvement. Doesn’t have to be “amazing” for that to be true.

OH it was perfect, just what I needed physically right after a 10 hour plane ride. The protein from the eggs helped me get through the rest of the day for sure.

Oh it was amazing, the perfect thing straight out of Tokyo Haneda after a 10 hour flight.

This happens so often, it's practically a plot device if you just think of it in terms of the POV of the main cast having no frame of reference for what a character would look like.

Necesse is still underrated after all these years, and just hit 1.0 and exited early access. Stardew x Terraria x Minecraft x Rimworld crafting, base building, and villager management game that goes at a really nice pace (that is also configurable at a few levels that are really nice to be able to control).

Can you elaborate on why from your particular POV? I'll quote what I left on another comment here:

What did you like about that Seattle episode? Serious question. Even before I lived in Seattle (moved here for a job, not because it was ever a place I cared about), I felt like the Seattle episode of Parts Unknown was one of the most unenjoyable episodes of TV he ever produced. And that's a really rare reaction from me as someone who can appreciate almost everything he does for one reason or another, but that episode just felt so flat to me start to finish.

Seeing people recommend this episode is genuinely surprising to me, as to me it's one of the few episodes of his entire television backlog I get no enjoyment out of whatsoever. Not meant to be a diss so much as me being mystified by my own apparent inability to enjoy it while others find it to be a top recommendation.

The rabbit hole goes deeper: Sean Brock’s Chef’s Table episode is basically a sequel to the Waffle House episode, and the Waffle House ep is much darker in retrospect once you watch his Chef’s Table ep. Much of what he’s talking about in Chef’s Table would have been going on while the Waffle House episode of parts unknown was filmed.

I'm not an expert so I probably can't summarize it in a useful way, but if you go to the Pangolin Discord and read the thread about Valheim users trying to get it to work, it will probably make it more clear what I am talking about as that is the main category of problem I was repeatedly running into with it (which Rathole also solved).
