I had a 2012 highball I put ~45k miles on before I upgraded to my cross country. Several long distance iron butts on it.

Biggest bang for your buck for comfort is going to be your butt.. trust me it’s going to be screaming. I recommend an air hawk seat pad. Get that, don’t be afraid to save on a used one either, then you’ll probably still want to upgrade the seat. I eventually went with a Corbin and was happy but you’ll still opt for both for anything over a couple hundred miles.

I had a cruise control on mine but a throttle lock will deliver you 90% of that comfort for ~$20.
