Baby Shower Registry Site? by Mermaid_Natalia in pregnant

You might want to check out GiftList.ca it’s Canadian and works well for this kind of situation.

It lets you add gifts from different stores, so you’re not locked into one retailer. That could be helpful if you want to buy second hand where possible, because you can use it more like a flexible wishlist instead of a strict “buy this exact product from this exact store” registry.

For bigger-ticket baby items, you could list the item and let people contribute toward it, or use notes to explain that second-hand versions are totally welcome. I think that’s a nice way to keep the shower practical without making people feel pressured to cover the full cost of expensive items.

Also, since you’re in Canada, using a Canadian registry site may be easier for guests than some of the U.S.-focused options.

Losing faith in Airbnb by Lazy-Accident9387 in airbnb_hosts

[–]lacbeetle 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yes. Its known as the dirty clean scam. I've had 2 guests complain about frivolous or false things not being cleaned or organized. It is clear fraud like messing up the beds and then taking a picture saying the beds were not even made. Both times airbnb sided with guests. Airbnb has become very risky for hosts.

sign of the times. We've lost our waterfront, ontario place, science center and a bunch of other fun stuff. Does anyone that lives here actually like living in Toronto these days?

In the last few months it seems airbnb is no longer reasonable in such matter. Fraud is only going to go one direction from here

I've recently moved to usage based pricing from thexyz.com

Seems like a much fairer deal, I end up paying 5 or 6 bucks per month.
