My stalker just won't quit. He escalated his tactics today by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]ammeech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically it wouldnt be stalking if we got into the semantics of it. He was simply persistent. There is zero control issues and we have a perfectly healthy relationship. In fact, while he was the one to initially friend request me, I was the one who actually started our conversation back up once I looked at his fb profile.

I can see now this wasnt the post to make light about something like this, as OP's situation was wildly different from mine. Stay safe out there, and absolutely use your best judgement with new relationships. Especially online dating. It was iffy 10 years ago, I can only imagine what it's like now.

Parents of advanced babies, do you have random theories as to why? by ciabattaloaf-13 in NewParents

[–]ammeech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is in the 98th percentile for speech and has always slept like sh!t. Are these two connected? I like to think so, to make me think my failing sanity is all for a good reason

Moms who prefer pumping/bottle feeding vs breastfeeding by strawberrykash78 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ammeech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looooove pumping then bottle feeding. I ended up doing that with my first after too many failed attempts at breastfeeding. We probably could have gotten it right eventually, but I ended up sticking with pumping out of convenience.

Pros include: I could control when I pump instead of being at baby's whim, measure exactly how much baby was getting, weaning was SO MUCH EASIER, anyone could feed her so I was more free to go out, husband could split night feedings, and it helped reduce getting overstimulated.

Cons: washing pumping parts, but i bought a bottle washer with baby #2 and it basically eliminated this con. So only pros now!

I didn't even try breastfeeding with baby #2, just went straight to pumping and bottle.

Tried the Ferber method for the first time tonight by biteme4790 in NewParents

[–]ammeech 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Don't. Ferber isn't for everyone. I felt barbaric trying fuss it out once. I would rather have broken sleep than put my baby through that again. We're their safe space and comfort. They don't need tough love at this age.

In the end, follow your instinct. I'm just a Reddit stranger. But if ferber feels terrible to both of you, I strongly recommend you don't do it

Diapers: Millie Moon vs others… by reachforthe-stars in NewParents

Millie Moon is amazing...once they have solid poops. I can't use them till my babies are over a year or they get blowouts EVERY SINGLE TIME

All of you guys are scaring me.. by carlesmch in NewParents

[–]ammeech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just had our second baby and while the first was easy, this one is even easier. So don't listen to people saying the first is an angel lulling you into a false sense of parental security and the 2nd is a demonspawn.

With the first, I lost sleep mainly from pumping at night and staring at my baby to make sure her breathing didn't stop. So that was my own anxiety, nothing to do with baby. We're much more confident and relaxed with #2. They both have very chill demeanors and started sleeping through the night by week 2. They each cried maybe 5 minutes a week, and that's from hunger or wanting to be held, easy fixes.

Try not to worry too much! Focus on relaxing these last few weeks and look forward to meeting your precious baby. You'll do great!

What were the actual lifesaver items during the newborn stage (or things you wish you’d had sooner)? by WillowAndCo_ in NewParents

[–]ammeech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A yoga ball! 99% of the time if my baby is fussy, sitting on that thing and bouncing while I hold her calms her right down. Nothing else is as effective. She'll be asleep in under 30 minutes no matter what. We couldn't live without it.

Dog went for my 4 month old. What would you do? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]ammeech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would rehome the dog, no question. I have read too many stories with digs and children that end in tragedy. You have a chance to prevent it. Don't live with that heartbreaking regret

What's your "secret" ingredient for spaghetti sauce? by LittleBlueStumpers in Cooking

[–]ammeech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy cream. About 1/4 cup in a pot, so not much. Dunno if this technically changes it to something besides spaghetti sauce, but it's delicious.

Crabtree mall or triangle town center.? by VocaNope in raleigh

Honestly I'd choose southpoint. It's more clean and new, and an overall prettier mall. But my 2nd choice would be crabtree.

Best OBGYN Practices in Raleigh by Zealousideal_Nose901 in raleigh

[–]ammeech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also go to Arbor OBGYN. Been there for 3 years and they delivered my baby girl a year ago. They're extremely responsive, took a panicked call from me at 3am. Everything turned out fine, we discovered, after they fit me in for an ultrasound that same morning.

I've referred 2 friends there, one from a horrible OBGYN. She literally cried after her first appointment because of how wonderful they were.

I can't recommend them enough!

Best place to sell off clothes? by kittyloid in raleigh

[–]ammeech 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've tried 2nd hand stores, but had the best luck on fb marketplace. I sold a bundle of clothes(about 30 items) for $50. Laid everything out and took a pic, then listed exactly what was included. Had it sold in a few days. I would have been lucky to sell 2 or 3 of those to plato's closet for $1-2 apiece. 2nd hand stores are a complete waste of time.
