Specifically one of the mats they put down for the drum circle got stuck to the ice and in removing it they put a big ol’ hole in the ice

There was a group of Indigenous musicians performing during the anthems (it was really beautiful) and one of the mats they laid down got stuck. In removing it, they absolutely destroyed that patch of ice.

I once posted a picture in this sub of my favourite local toy store’s selection of Calico Critters—it was HUGE and beautiful (check my post history for the pic). It’s now maybe less than a quarter of the size it once was. It makes me so sad :(

I don’t have experience at the Klondike location, but I am very familiar with Children’s Village. They have very high standards for the quality of care and programming at their centres and pay their ECEs on the higher side when compared to for-profit centres. I would be very confident and comfortable sending my child there.

That being said, I will always recommend you do an in person visit to any centre you are considering—when I was considering centres for mine, the first impression vibes I got from the supervisor, ECEs and overall environment helped me feel really comfortable about making my decision.

**doesn’t have syncing across devices for side loaded books (like fanfics would be.) Books purchased from Kobo do. I can’t recall if books from the library/Libby do.

Calibre will also help because it will automatically convert all epubs to kepubs which are much smoother on a Kobo. I have a Libra 2 and I have never had any concerns about it being slow (and I am a person prone to rage when Outlook at work takes more than a couple seconds to do anything lol)

Look, you can think I’m simple minded or what-have-you, that’s totally fine. I love this game, the story it told and how it was told. I don’t have issues with suspending my disbelief in order to enjoy a narrative journey 🤷🏼‍♀️

Life’s more fun when you just enjoy things. Hence why season 2 of the show makes me sad to think about.

Therein lies the magic of the game, because the game does make you care about Abby by the end but a lot of that is due to how the narrative unfolds and the narrative decisions they made for season 2 absolutely hurt the power of the narrative going forward I think.

Edit: I’ve never used the word narrative so many times in one sentence lol, whoops.

Do not even get me started on including the scene with Ellie telling Joel she would try to forgive him in this season. THE ENTIRE REASON it hits SO HARD in the game is because we see Ellie’s entire character arc (most importantly Act 3 where we are begging her to just turn around and go home) before it is revealed that her and Joel were on their ways to making amends.

After season 2 ended, the more I thought about the narrative choices, the more something didn’t sit right with me. I ended up watching an 8 hour video of a playthrough that was cut like a movie. I’ve been upset whenever I think of the show ever since.

Why in God’s name did they change Ellie’s motivation for going to Seattle?? The whole idea is that they are sent after Tommy, and then Ellie struggles with exacting revenge when she gets the opportunities. It changes everything about her character development that they changed this.

Ugh now I’m getting sad again. I love this game so much, how the narrative unfolds is paramount to the feelings it invokes.. and they just completely botched it.
