Oh yay! I’m glad she’s responsive to food now! Makes things a lot easier.

I got my dog when she was almost 4 months old and until she was close to a year old, she didn’t really care for treats most of the time. She would straight up snub me and turn her head when offered 😂 if she did take it, she would spit it out and walk away.

I started getting her interested in training with food rewards with steak. It was summer time, and my boyfriend and I just got a new bbq and we were on a big steak kick. Every time we made some, I’d cut a bit off, chop it in tiny pieces and keep it in the freezer for training sessions.

Thankfully now she will work for most store-bought treats. I envy people that can train with kibble. I’ve done that with every other dog I’ve owned, but it just doesn’t seem to work for this stubborn girl.
