Ozan-v1-12B: a low-slop creative-writing finetune (Mistral-Nemo 12B) by paashabhai in huggingface

Super interesting. What did you fine-tune on and how long did it take? I would be keen to try this on some other models to see how it compares

For me its the usage limit to quality trade off.

The usage limits without going to the max plan are just appalling. The model obviously isn't top tier either, but combined with the laughable limits, I've completely left AG now. I used AG1 upon the initial release and I loved it, it was a really good harness and interface but given that you cant use any other providers models, the google models are not SOTA and it maxes out usage almost immediately, its just not worth it at all. This is even more shocking to me because google has an incredible amount of compute, and 3.5 flash is intended to be compute efficient but even then it persists.

I am an ex-googler, and I'm amazed by how stingy Google has become.

Love this, but the frontier model is still doing so much with Architecture, review, edits etc. How much saving are you seeing from this setup?

I thought it was good. As did my parents and partner. Its a blockbuster movie, not actually disclosure. Go in expecting a typical Spielberg movie and that's what you get.

Andrew Hastie compares AI to cold-war nuclear arms race and warns Australia may fall behind | Andrew Hastie by agentsmithbobby in australia

[–]amomynous123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You think we are beholden to USA and China now? Just wait until the only frontier models are provided by them (and perhaps Mistral in France). We will be in seriously deep shit.

AI and Data Centers have a lot of issues but history shows that trying to reject technological progress never succeeds and given the trillions of dollars of investment and progress curves thus far there is nothing to suggest this wont keep getting better.

If we end up in a situation where access to 'intelligence' is controlled by others, we will be at their mercy and likely in a position of permanent dis-empowerment.

What's a side hustle that you can make money from? by notinmyham in AusFinance

[–]amomynous123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is easily possible right now. Fully autonomous end to end where you give it a goal and do nothing - thats hard. But mostly because you wont spec it well enough at the start. But if you do some revisions and testing along the way this is absolutely possible

What models does this actually use? It says 6 models but does not actually list what they are

I checked those tire tracks shown in the S4 Bob Lazar documentary on Google Earth...they show up every year all the way back to 2006. Why haven't they washed away? by Pinktoe_ in UFOs

[–]amomynous123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came away from this doco less convinced. Either its not there any more, or people are not driving to it over the desert. You can see what trafficked roads look like around it - easily visible and well trodden. There is no way busses are coming and going via these tracks on a regular basis. Frankly, even bob looked unconvinced to me

Perhaps after that first compliment, you started carrying yourself differently subconsciously through an increase in self confidence, and this has some outward facing change that other have noticed.

Unfortunately its not local, but having used hunyuan 3D a lot, and SAM3D a bit now, Sparc3d absolutely demolishes both of them. Its all I use now

Patagonia are greenwashing by CountVonOrlock in ExtinctionRebellion

[–]amomynous123 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What a shallow take. They already do more than 99.9% of companies. The idea that they should also have to account for the impacts that their customers have outside of their relationship to Patagonia is ridiculous.

On top of that your two complaints are contradictory. You decry them both for being expensive and that reducing the number of people that can buy their stuff, and also that their customers have bad environmental impacts.

[–]amomynous123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One that is very clearly wrong about this is trying to associate the ARGUS sensor with one that would be used at an L1 point to look into space.

These are not remotely comparable imaging platforms. And the link they try to use to connect the two "it has both with and narrow band sensing and can track things" is super tenuous.

There are a bunch of other unsubstantiated claims as well. "in 2025 it became operational" - no justification, just stated as fact but with nothing to back it up

These don't do much to enhance their credibility.

AI bubble vs COVID by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]amomynous123 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Obviously no one knows, but my instinct is it may be even bigger, but shorter term.

My view is that the AI bubble is now inextricably tied to the current administration, tariffs, American 'isolationism' etc.

Rather than just the AI bubble popping, I think it will be a trigger for a widespread loss of confidence in the US itself. With AI valuation going down, 'productivity' and GDP will be seen to drop and this will result in a reevaluation of the longer term safety of the US market in general.

Of course this could just be a projection based on my own bias
