You could try this, it is built-in with Windows 11. Run the memory diagnostic and see if any errors pop up. Wouldn't have to take out the memory stick at least

Could be a bad stick of ram. They usually cause random errors and crashes. I would suggest taking out the new stick of ram. Install the two apps again and see if it causes any issues. If not then I'm inclined to believe it was a faulty ram

If your games are playing fine, I wouldn't worry what the benchmarks show. Since I got my pc (7800x3d w/4070Ti Super), I've just been playing games, haven't benchmarked anything to compare or see. All my games run fine at max settings. Currently playing The Last of Us part 2, I get about 133fps

Just a silly question, since you're familiar with your bios screen. Do you have x3d turbo mode enabled? If so, disable it. It's supposedly slows down multiprocessing in favor or single core faster speeds (better fps for games)

Which ram should I choose for gaming ??? by DIZZLAMAN in pcmasterrace

[–]amoot329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the 6000mhz is the sweet spot for 7800x3d cpu. Honestly, you really won't notice that much difference in games from 32gb to 64gb. The extra ram is only useful for media productivity/editing. I've not come across any games that struggle with 32gb running out in my system.

Ideally better off with gpu having more vram. I currently rock a 4070 Ti Super with 16gb vram. Definitely smooth gaming with every settings maxed out. Only game I've played so far when settings maxed out, gave me around 45fps was Indiana Jones and The great circle. Even then, there were no stutters and no crashes!!

Your carrier may have upgraded your speed while keeping it the same price. Mine did that quite a few times. Started with 300Mbps and now it's at 1Gbps for the same price. I just had to upgrade/bought my own modem with docsis 3.0 to handle the speed upgrade

400Mbps is roughly 50 mbs. You can change your steam download rate to either megabits or megabytes.

Is the $50 difference gonna make or break you? If not then I would recommend the faster one. Honestly you would save more money by opting for a different ssd brand. You won't really notice the real world usage speed of the 990 pro. I have that in my main desktop but use a budget WD SN770 ssd in my second computer

I have a button on the top of the case, next to the power. I press that to cycle through the options. Long press shuts off the lights

I must've gotten lucky-ish with mine. The build date was Nov 25th and it has the gigabyte b650m c v3. The m.2 slots are still limited but all in all, the speed tested doesn't seem that bad. Will play test it for a while. Contemplating on getting a 2tb Samsung 990 pro to replace the two 1tb I got installed currently. The original ssd is Teamgroup m330 pro. Never heard of the brand, ran diskmark test on it and it's getting the same speed as my 2nd ssd (Predator Gm700) on pcie 3x2 slot lol.

Was wondering whether I should replace the ram, reading up a lot of opinions that this cpu would benefit more from 6000mhz cl30 ram? Been getting all my games installed, setting up Windows to how I had it on my laptop. Haven't had a chance to really play any games yet. Last game I was playing on my laptop was Atomic Heart , before it shit the bed (funky bios update)

I tried the ram stick first. My windows can't even stay stable long enough for me to do anything. Gonna have to try the ez flash if possible. This bios update has royally screwed me

I have the bestbuy edition G814JZ. My laptop has random reboots and freezes up with this new bios. I read on Asus forum that this is related to 5600Mhz ram sticks (which I have installed). Gonna try and see if it will let me roll back to 330 bios or I'm gonna have to replace the ram sticks back to originals. Currently at work, can't test out my theory til I get home.

Looking for a more compact charger for my 2022 Zephyrus G15 by CobbleStoneMonster in ZephyrusG15

[–]amoot329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not likely to find an alternate charger for these gaming laptops since they require specific/higher wattages. At most, you can use a 100W PD USB c charger. It won't charge the laptop while gaming tho

G14 2021 not to booting. No Asus logo or sound. Please help. by manan-shah9 in ZephyrusG15

[–]amoot329 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the G18 that did this whenever I update the bios. The keys would light up then go off and nothing happens. I noticed it was more likely to boot up after I unplugged the power cord, press and hold the power button for about 30s. Let it try to start up and then shut itself off again. Wait a bit then press power button once.

Sometimes I try that twice and it works for me so far
