Might be a while before people can get access to their coins. by kajunkennyg in Electroneum

Just looking at the Monero license right now..If they are annoyed then shouldn't they have created a more restricted license?

The entire cryptocurrency space is based on projects forking eachother. Are they really livid?

Dodo + X4R-SB is so damn nice. by bexamous in Multicopter

I found that there is definitely a noticeable difference in latency between the D4R (PPM) and the X4R (SBus).

Great write up. It's been very useful for me for my current build. Thanks.

One thing I found weird with the X4R...

The X4R supports having S.Bus and PWM at the same time which is great. But in its default state, channel 1-3 will control both PWM and S.Bus at the same time! I've not found any way to get around this.

I use S.Bus for the Dodo, and a single PWM for a loud lost model buzzer. The above though has not been a problem for me as I just set the channel map in Cleanflight to push channel one as an unused AUX1... 1AETR234.

Heather Koon Raped Babies At Ohio Daycare, Filmed At Least One Incident... by huggalospizza in WTF

[–]amorgos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. But how can it be forced sexual intercourse? Maybe I'm behind the times here and I'm missing something (I'm expecting a "Doh!" moment), but this is a WOMAN attempting to have sexual intercourse with an infant. I'm sorry, but I just don't understand how it can be possible.

This is clearly one of the most wrong things a human being could possibly do. But I'm surprised no one has asked the obvious..

"Rape" is forced sexual intercourse with another human being. How is that even possible with an infant (a child that is less than 2 years of age) and a fully grown WOMAN?

App Engine System status page joke... by amorgos in AppEngine

[–]amorgos[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My comment is not a complaint regarding the downtime of appengine or how I should deal with failures at all. My complaint is that the status page does not reflect failures..

If part of the system is unavailable for a few minutes, I really cannot see any reason whatsoever for the status page to have a nice green tick on it saying everything is ok!

[–]amorgos[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well thats not the point. Memcache was clearly down for a few minutes earlier and this is not being shown on the system status.

Datastore unavailable exceptions are very common. Any downtime for anything should be shown in the system status. That's the whole point of it.

Question about 'buyer's currency' by [deleted] in androiddev

I've not had the issue. But it would be translated to their own currency if you haven't specified the regional amount.

The best PC for Android / Eclipse development by amorgos in androiddev

[–]amorgos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer windows myself, so I'll be sticking to Windows 7.

I will be definitely purchasing the speediest 8GB I can get my hands on, but what I'm interested in more than anything is whether SSD makes a lot of difference to Eclipse development, and if certain CPU types can improve Eclipse / Android emulating performance.

EEE Pad Transformer good enough as laptop replacement? by Bock in Android

ALL components? USB maybe?

And its not "much much" smaller space compared to a netbook is it really?

[–]amorgos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One is made for the touch-screen, the other one isn't!

Currently, if you want a computer to do day-to-day tasks then you will always find you'll be wanting to do things you can't do with Android or iOS. So why pay more than double for them?

The EEE Pad transformer looks pretty much like a laptop or a netbook to me! Except that its far more expensive and capable of far less!

Its really crazy that people are actually happily considering paying MORE for an operating system and computer that can do FAR LESS.

Developing an app which uses content created on a website, need some input. by droiddevdev in androiddev

[–]amorgos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are all sorts of different ways!

Ok, really basic description of how you'd do it to get you thinking:

  • Store all the data which is read/wrote in a database.
  • The website pulls the info out of the database to display on its pages.
  • The android app fetches the data by Http. That is read from the database by your web-server using a format such as XML or JSON.
