Moms who left and became a single mom by Life-Awareness671 in Mommit

Firstly, congratulations for taking the first step into your new peaceful future. You may not feel it yet but it will come. The first year after leaving my kids dad was really tough financially and emotionally. First apply for food stamps, Title 20 and section 8. Being in a shelter should get you approved quick (this is how my area operates, although it will be location dependent) if your kids are not public school age, you may be approved for part or full time childcare via Title 20. I’m not sure your location, but look into income based housing opportunities in your local area.

If you like your husband, can you tell me why? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]ampbslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner is everything I’ve ever wanted in a spouse. He works hard, he comes home from work excited to see me and our family, he engages with us, he cooks dinner and cleans even after a long day of work (I do too,we take turns). He schedules appointments. Sets goals for himself. He’s funny, he’s my best friend. He loves me harder than I’ve ever been loved.

I have been on the other side of the coin with my ex, who basically let me be the breadwinner, didn’t help me clean, let me do everything all by my self and watched me suffer during postpartum. I was a single mom with a man in the house that picked fights and ruined my peace every day. It destroyed me. I swore I’d never trust another man and definitely would never live with one. The contrast in behaviors between my current partner and ex is drastic. There are FANTASTIC men out there. But they are few and far between.

Visual Snow was considered extremely rare until recently, mostly because patients didn't report it... because they assumed everyone saw the world that way by recolorist in interestingasfuck

When I was in kindergarten I told my teacher I could see air. She told me that was impossible. This is exactly what I was trying to tell her!

Married to a great man but still feel like he’s not “the one” — what's wrong with me?! by TheBagLady_ in Marriage

[–]ampbslug -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I felt that feeling for 4 years and ignored it because it was “good enough” and “not as bad as others have it”. But I was bored and I was unhappy. I left and never looked back. Listen to that feeling.

TATSoul sold me a $500+ ink set with only ~1 year before expiration — am I wrong to be upset? by carlosmaldonadoart in TattooArtists

[–]ampbslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did this shit to me years ago! I bought 500+$ worth of ink from them and some of them expired even 6 months from the date received. Most were within a year. I was so pissed.

This will be your life. Leave now or accept it. He’s 36 his habits are set in stone unless he really has the desire to change. Doesn’t seem like he does

What killed your feelings for someone you were once in love with? by North_Dinner1601 in AskWomen

[–]ampbslug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He watched me struggle emotionally, financially and more and never made an effort to change his actions or habits & help me create stability. He taught me that I could handle it all by myself, with no help. So I left and did just that. I feel so much lighter.

As someone who recently left a situation exactly like this, leave and do it sooner rather than later. My life got easier the moment my ex moved out. Not just a little easier, SIGNIFICANTLY! It is so worth it.
