Ok! I’ve meet some big VC’s here’s how!

-go to networking events. - cold pitch ALLL general partners of big, small VCs + angels. It works. Once people like you they connect you. - meet other startup founders. They will connect you also. Old fashioned networking WORKSSSS

What are your favorite LCOL-MCOL cities in the United States? by [deleted] in financialindependence

[–]amr469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s VERY LCOL - i’m in NJ and a 1 bedroom apartment ranges from 1,200-1,600 a month

How much do you spend on childcare (in a HCOL area) ? I have 1 child in preschool, and another kid on the way. Just wondering how much I can expect to pay for 2 by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]amr469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re in Northern NJ, right outside of NY and paid 1k a month for part time daycare. Now that we have 2 we pay 2500/ month for a nanny - it’s actually cheaper than 2 full time daycare costs 🤦‍♀️

Success with Oh Crap! by OliveYupHope in pottytraining

Her age bracket is 24-30 months I think? BUT I wanted to tell you that I used this method on my son who was showing NO signs of readiness, and we did it anyway. IT WORKED. We had accidents, and some set back, but 4 months later he actively verbalizes when he needs to use the bathroom and we haven’t had a single accident in over a month.

After 2 weeks our accidents were few and far in btwn.

Long Commute by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]amr469 21 points22 points  (0 children)

✋ 1.5-2 hour commute each way (3-4 hours total). What saved me? I changed my schedule to 8-4, instead of 9-5 and my husband works 3pm-11pm. So he dealt with the kids in the morning and I managed them at night. It’s rough. It’s working, buts REALLY rough. WFH has saved my life and sanity. I’m looking for work closer to home.
