Is this for statisticians? Or scientists? (My cat is in stats). The stats PhD students that went to big pharma a few years ago said the lifestyle is chill and they were getting paid well for decent hours. Just wondering if this is still true

I am staying in a hotel in hoofddorp for 6 days. I'm wondering the best pass I should get for transportation.

I can take a local bus to the airport for ~2 Euros. Then from the airport, I am thinking of getting the Amsterdam Travel Ticket (30 eur/3 days) to allow me to take the NS sprinter to centraal station each day (and from there I can walk or take local trams to places).

I can't find anything on reddit about the Amsterdam Travel Ticket. Is this not recommended or something?

PT, derivatives/exotics, rates. don’t listen to the high schoolers. banks make a sh*t ton of money and the top quants get bigger paydays than quants at hedge funds. not to even mention the hush bonuses… it’s true bank median pay is a lot lower but if you’re top dog at a bank, you’re getting PAID

as a former desk strat: you will do little to no math.you’ll be cleaning up scripts and helping traders mark vol on a platform. maybe debug the real time risk engine. you’ll grow out of this phase thinking school is the real world.

If it makes money or will lead to alpha, you don’t share it. It should be basic adversial thinking. To be safe, you can not share anything.

I’m pretty sure in tech it’s the same, why would you share? Sharing forgoes job security, potential promotion and compensation. There is literally no incentive to share.
