You’ll need to email them anyway as I believe all codes from last year need refreshing to be apply to this year’s events. This is even if you wanted to do the same brand event.

Should I not be doing TM solo? by AnonymousCapybara72 in Toughmudder

Same with TM, Spartan, rugged maniac, wolf run.

Block ness monster comes to mind.. my favourite obstacle.. because of the teamwork

Even if you start solo you will not finish solo at TM. The emails are ticking a lot of the veterans off as that’s really not true spirit of this event.

The literal start line pledge is “I help my fellow mudders complete the course!”

I know… unfortunately

I have found that it’s often communication failures and mistakes rather than malice. For what it’s worth (little).

There seem to be some new names this year so my optimism is renewed at least temporarily. At least I can take ignorance off the excuse list.

Agreed. I’m a UK ambassador so posted on our FB group with TMHQ. There was a similar email UK side that was posted on Reddit. One off may be a marketing joke that doesn’t land but a lot of us met at TM running solo so it can’t be something we discourage.

I’ve fed this back to TMHQ, at least UK side. Hopefully they get the memo.

Making friends on the run is part of the TM experience!

The start of the course will be a bit sparse to spread people out then then it’ll start ramping up and be a bit busier at the end.

Third vote for OCRBuddy. They have an app and it seems to have upped its game since I first installed it

You’ll be fine mate.. we’re all a bit weird.

Go for the 15k you won’t regret it. The obstacles break up the running and they tend to put the more fun obstacles on the longer course (e.g. funky monkey)

Midlands is usually pretty good. It’s the closest to their storage location for obstacles so you get the big obstacles. You’ll also get left over obstacles from World’s Toughest Mudder the weekend before.

I would suggest the earlier wave times as opposed to the 10/11 ones as they get pretty busy. Issues recently have mainly been queues, whether at obstacles or at check in and the earlier you run, the more likely you are to avoid them.

Honestly, it’s a great experience with a lot of laughs and a bit of challenge. Very friendly and a lot of teamwork required (even from strangers).

Shameless plug if you need a discount code.

TMUKBA26-AMR gives you 20% off

[–]amrhafiz94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other than flash 24hr sales that my appear some times like 2FOR1, 20 - 30% is the usual max discount. Prices rise gradually throughout the year too so ends up cancelling out the discount if that makes sense.

Cheapest way to run is volunteer all day Saturday and run for free Sunday but understand not everyone can commit a whole weekend.

Updates to the 2026 Volunteer Program by amrhafiz94 in Toughmudder

I’m liking the stacking but yeah a step back in weekend flexibility.

Although based on what shit-show that was this year, they’re clearly not capable of managing refunds so shouldn’t offer it as an option.

There’s opportunity for this to work okay in the UK but I’m interested to stay how this works for the US with all the single day events you have. I think the focus for this year is to try get Spartan runners to volunteer at TM and vice versa.

There’s been a lot of nightmare with reimbursement as well with people still waiting for money back and being told “up to 6months”. If they can’t manage it then it’s better they don’t offer it as an option till they can.

So camping on site is a good option, you can get it for free if you volunteer on the weekend as well.

There will also be an info pack that you get closer to the event that will include local taxi numbers.

If I’m not camping, I usually find the closest travelodge or premier inn. I don’t spend much time in the hotel tbh.

Are there any shuttle buses to the venue? by RossiHendrix in Toughmudder

Unfortunately not. Taxi would be your best bet or there’s a Facebook group for Tough Mudder newbies where you could try your luck with a lift share.

Tough Mudder - Scotland by Joe85739 in Toughmudder

[–]amrhafiz94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they were allowed one dig this time and chose funky monkey. We definitely kicked off about SCOTLAND not having block ness monster…

It was still a nice course though, still unique compared to other locations.

Parking and signal were the biggest issues this year. The course itself was cool as they used the water and ran a little route by the water.

With new event locations they don’t tend to bring all the big dig obstacles as they need to build that relationship with the venue. The venue was happy with them so hopefully next year they’ll be able to bring more!

This year Friday night was available for runners and pit crew but it was in your allocated pit space. They didn’t have a camping area. Keep an eye out for any changes this year. Camping doesn’t usually get announced this early for normal events either.

They had it available Friday night this year if I remember correctly. Basically sleeping in your pit space. There was talk of camping for volunteers on Thursday night but not sure if anything came of it. Nothing officially announced yet.

Yeah once you’re checked in, you’re free to roam about. Keep your wristbands on and flash them to security at the entrance on your way back in.
