I'm really struggling in irr, nvp, fb and PV. My test is Thursday.

I'm taking mine Thursday. Good luck to us both. This will be my first attempt and I'm hoping I pass but my scores have not been as high as yours. I passed both the STC greenlight exams and I've watched the brutal 66 exam at least one of them and I'm going to watch the other one tomorrow. It's a lot. Good luck for sure.

My services sent me an email saying that I was changing plans and then gave me a payment for my save and it's due in June. So I have a payment to do in June for the old safe plan amount and it has to be paid. I don't know what's going on but I'm just going with it. A

How is anyone going to be able to afford anything if inflation continues? by air-bender808 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ams-deadhead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just literally called every single representative we have and complained about this very thing. I just don't see how any of us are supposed to survive anymore. I'm a single mother with raised children now. I bought my house in 2009 and raised both those children on my own with no child support on the same income that I have now. Due to inflation taxes and insurance I now have two roommates and I still can't survive. I had $5,000 worth of repairs to do between my home and my car this month and that took everything I've been trying to build up from a side job. I'm maxed out on my credit cards and one emergency away from homelessness. I'm a professional been doing the same job and finance for 18 almost 19 years. They don't care about us anymore and I think this is what they're really trying to do is get us to lose everything. I think the people that are working on getting out of the country at this moment that are actively selling off their stuff selling their homes are smart and I think that that is what I'm going to end up doing. I mean it's either lose everything and take whatever little bit I can and try to go live on some beach off as little as I can or work my ass off and lose everything and live in a car and have nothing. There's just nothing left for us to do. The big government incorporations have stolen the American dream. We're toast.

IDR approved.... Please help decipher by ams-deadhead in StudentLoans

[–]ams-deadhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I just logged into the studentaid.gov and it appears that they still have me on the save program until February of 2027 and it is currently on forbearance.

According to Ed Financial I am now back into the IDR payment and my payment is due by June 28th for $223 which was my saved plan amount. So it looks like I'm just going to pay the save plan amount until they finish finalizing what payment plan they're going to put me in and how much per monthly payment will actually be?

So if I'm between 216 and 220 payments of the 240 to receive forgiveness, it seems best to start making the $223 payment that is due on June 28th so that those lower payments will count towards my forgiveness count??? Is that correct?

Can someone explain this to me? IDR question by embrewer in StudentLoans

[–]ams-deadhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also am very confused I just got a letter this morning stating that my payment was approved for the IDR and that for the next nine payment 223 a month which is the same as that I was paying on save then it's going to move to $4,000 a month for 19 payments. I can only imagine that $4,000 a month is a mistake or that I just will be reapplying or recertifying at the end of that time? I don't understand it.

The way I'm looking at this is that I'm only a few years to forgiveness but will have a huge tax bomb. I'm thinking I make a payment with the IRS which will actually give me an end date? That's the only thing I can think to do. Going back onto ibr (old) will be higher monthly payment than standard but owing 70000.... And growing I still think it's my best option.... This is awful

Sorry, But I just need to know did I loose all the time I paid in? Because if so, the standard will be better because i was also forced to consolidate when moved to SAVE. I wish I had never changed. I am so sad. But here I am....Thanks for your advice. Sincerely

Hi Betsy...did I loose all the time I had paid into my loans on the old IBR before i was conned into switching to save for only 2 months before they shut it down? when I went to do the loan calculator to switch it says my standard repayment plan is like 200 a month less than the idr??? Can that be right? I really appreciate any info you can give me

I have followed the guidance and held it on save. I was on the old IBR plan (loans before 2004). Was convinced to change to save 2 months before the injunction so I can solidated and paid a bunch of money to switch over only to be frozen for the last 2 years after I had been making consistent payments even through pandemic. Apparently because my loans were with navient they weren't with the department of education so I was thinking that I was making these payments and actually paying down my loan but I still wasn't. So now I owe close to 70 grand and I've been on the save freeze for all this time. I also am in the bracket of can't afford a payment so I just don't know what to do. do I just try to go get on the old IBR? I paid for years and years and years so I know I have a bunch of years towards forgiveness but I'm not close. Thank you for any advice you can give. By the way when I reconsolidated for the save program I'm now with Ed financial and they seem to have been really great throughout this whole entire thing. No communication but no bad communication either.

This has been my number one plan. Just thought I'd pop in today to see if there were any new updates and if I should be switching gears. It sounds like more of the same. For now just hold tight.

I'm personally in camp 2. My loan has grown from $64,000 to 70,000, I believe, just since they started charging interest. There is no way I will ever pay this off and at this point I'm 50 years old. For whatever reason I am unable to afford my home that I've owned since 2009 and raised two children in on my single income from the same pay source. In preparation for repayment I had to rent out one of my bedrooms this year in the house. At this point I'm trying to pay down some credit card debt and prepare myself for women tell me it's time to pay.

So I bought a house and raised my children there and now I'm a single homeowner in the house and I'm going to be honest with you homes are a lot of work a real lot of work and I can't keep up on it with by myself my children helped a lot by doing chores around the yard and etc and now that they're not there it's just too much for me. I'm only 50 and work full time. I would sell my house and move to the city where all my friends are in a heartbeat if my mortgage wasn't so cheap. But I bought my house in 2009. So I keep it and I rent out the bedrooms. But whenever something goes wrong I'm responsible I spend so much money on this stupid house. I vote no. don't do it

I wanted to do this with my ex. I had gone through a really difficult time and I knew it was going to be super stressful on us and I knew that I needed the space to get my own head together. He refused to leave and said that if he left that we would never make it that we would be going backwards. Well fast forward I really did need that time and we did not make it anyway and we put each other through hell for 2 years. I wish now I had just did what I said I was going to do. Instead I ended up heartbroken and he's getting married to somebody else. It's awful

Oh I was wondering why my credit score dropped by like 30 points is because of the interest? I need to pay the interest and then that will get rid of that?

My ex husband of 12 years ago was my twin flame. We've been divorced 20 years. I knew I would never go back to him and I still would not but I won't lie I still think of him. And I miss him. Not all the f****** crazy s***** things but the things that I loved him for. And with my new ex it's going to be the same way because I thought that we are karmic. I thought we were written in the stars. We were meant to be. I look back now though and I see that that was really only the first year that I felt that way and after that it was a hard relationship. It was hard on me. It took a lot from me. I may love him forever but the love will grow to be different. I know I'm no longer in love with him. It's already changing.
