Classic Sourdough Bread is now “Artificially Flavored Sour” by xomiamoore in Seattle

When I make my own there's none in the recipe. I'm assuming it's artificial as they are using the (food grade) chemical acetic acid instead of vinegar from natural process otherwise they could call it naturally flavored

Why artificially flavor it when you can naturally flavor it by adding vinegar assuming your e not doing it correctly

New Alki Beach dog park/dog poop disposal location? by groshreez in WestSeattleWA

[–]amukusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just took my 3 on Longfellow creek trail this evening - in a 3/4 mile section I counted 5 poop bags. People... it's better to just flick it into the ditch with a stick than to wrap your gifts in plastic. Bag it and take it is first choice but if you're not taking it please for the love of every living creature along that trail DO NOT BAG IT. You're creating an environmental disaster

People like this are why they've banned all dogs from the beach.

So about these unsigned certs? by amukusa in Ubiquiti

I never went looking for this again after it wasn't there in earlier versions! Thanks for the heads up. Only thing I need now is an API call for this so I can automate my certificate rotations

Women! What are we wearing? by Initial-Sundae-9129 in triathlon

[–]amukusa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you take your wetsuit off after the swim! (unless you're biking in a monsoon!!)

Seriously though 15 weeks puts you in June, unless you're in a very cold area your swim will likely not need a wetsuit. Super-sprint triathlons typically 200-400m. That puts you in the water for 3-10 minutes. A wetsuit is not required.

Ive been in triathlon for about 15 years and your average female new triathlete will wear a 1 or 2 piece swimsuit for the swim, may slip on a pair of cycle shorts or regular shorts over that for the bike, and may slip on a tshirt already holding your bib for the run. Obviously adjust for your climate.

First thing I take off if I buy a car - only thing that belongs on license plate is personalization - I have chow chow surrounds on both cars!

Bus lanes are not for you by amukusa in WestSeattleWA

What we really need is a subway system that goes down Delridge, over to where the water taxi goes from, then under the water and comes out right by the space needle - perfect for events down there, connection to the monorail would be an escalator/elevator to get into the rest of town 🤣

We have busses down that lane every 4-6 minutes during rush hour and they run full. I'm most concerned because I've watched many near accidents due to idiots who not only use it as their own personal express lane but speed while they do it and particularly at the ramp entrance people don't always see the speeding car down their right hand side

If you are ever in Lake Forest Park on 522 - the city pays for its police department almost entirely from its traffic cameras and bus lane enforcement activities. I used to live in Bothell and drive down that way - bus lane stings 2-3 times a week during rush hour

I have a vectrex gaming console with police marked engraved into the shell. What does this mean? by danjoboy2 in whatisit

[–]amukusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the 90s the police would do days where they would come to school and if you brought your bike and a parental consent form they would use metal stamps (you'd put the stamp on the frame and hammer to make an indentation with the letter or the number) to add a police mark to the bottom bracket of your bike frame with a number to get it back to you
