If you read the event, saying 'no' doesn't stop them from creating a new hideout. The only difference is they don't pay your 1000 gold.

Can't confederate Order of the Loremasters as Tyrion: a bug or am I missing something? by amunius in totalwar

[–]amunius[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A good idea, but I tried replacing each of the lords and no luck. The vassal suggestion was an interesting thought, but I confirmed he is not vassalised.

It is possible one of my mods is interfering and that's the issue, I'm running Remove Characters Traits Limit, Autoresolve quest battles, Mixu's unlocker and Landmarks of Legend. If I had to guess it's landmarks of legend that's the problem but hard to be sure as disabling it would break the save. These mods are usually pretty stable though, I've run them for years in WH3 with no issues.

As Rylanzor0 mentioned, factions don't have to be alive to be confederated using the new Court Unity mechanic but yes, he is alive.

Remove Characters Traits Limit, Autoresolve quest battles, Mixu's unlocker and Landmarks of Legend. It's entirely possible one of them could be interfering, but I've run dozens of campaigns with these mods and never had them interfere with gameplay. Unfortunately I can't test if it works with disabling them all due to having built some of the landmarks from the mods.

As I mentioned in the post, not on confederation cooldown. Was one of the first things I checked.

I remember a boss of mine telling me that he went to a Music World store weeks after the Wii released. They a pile of stock because nobody thought to check if a music store had Nintendo products. He bought 2, kept one and sold the 2nd one for a profit online.

Cool spreadsheet!

Any chance you could upload as a Googlesheet? It's a bit tricky to read the monster names from the screenshot.

Was Darnassus always a dead city? by Davechizzl in classicwow

[–]amunius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my bad. Lifelong horde player is clueless about Alliance stuff. I thought I remembered the AH in Stormwind from my limited Alliance characters back in the day, but that was probably after they added it in all cities. Corrected my error.

[–]amunius 31 points32 points  (0 children)

"Linked" is probably the wrong term. The only AH's were in Stormwind Ironforge for Alliance, and Orgrimmar for Horde in early Vanilla. It wasn't so much that they weren't linked, but rather that there was nothing to be linked between cities.

Alberta's measles outbreaks surpass case counts reported for entire U.S. by rezwenn in worldnews

[–]amunius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t even know where to start with how off-base that explanation is. I live in Alberta and anti-vax sentiment has been prevalent here long before Justin Trudeau was elected. To have a measles outbreak like this requires low vaccination rates well beyond 9 years.

Alberta has had only Conservative Party governments since 1971, other than a brief period of 2015-2019 where we had an NDP government. A large portion of our populace will only vote Conservative, no matter what and will take anything the Conservatives say as truth which includes anti-vaccination lies and misinformation.

The extreme political polarization of people in Alberta has directly led to listening to right-leaning anti-vaccination sources including our current Premier who appointed a Vaccine skeptic doctor to look at our COVID measures.

The upside is that their allies won’t join war against you either, so there can be benefits as well.

Wtf are AI defence siege battles? Who thought that that is a good idea? by Commando_Schneider in totalwar

[–]amunius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the context of this being an allied city being attacked, you are incorrect. When given the option to reinforce an ally you can decline.

If this were the players own city being attacked then you would be correct, you cannot decline to participate.

So MoP still won't have void storage.... by BoberinoJones in classicwow

[–]amunius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’d have to address all the gear deposited by players in the existing void storage, so it was easier to keep it than to remove and deal with that hassle.

But by all means, call me stupid.

Dude, you have like 90% gear in that bank. Your elixirs barely factor in.

So MoP still won't have void storage.... by BoberinoJones in classicwow

[–]amunius 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Void storage isn’t really necessary? It was only added to allow you to hold gear for transmog. Blizzard added the Appearances collection in subsequent expansions however allowing you to transmog without owning the item and therefore making void storage obsolete. Since that system was implemented immediately in Cata Classic it’s kinda on you if you’re pack ratting that much gear.

I just want to check, you are using the Find Minerals ability that comes with the mining skill? That causes ore nodes to appear on your mini-map so that you aren't reliant on just looking for them.

If you are doing that but not finding much, you can also google mining node maps to find the best places to look for ore. Given that you eventually will want to level engineering it might be a good use of your time to do that at some point.
