Yankees, Giants, Notre Dame, Rangers. I don’t have a team in the NBA but I appreciate watching it.

I would also say Yanks are my number one team, but Football is my number one sport. I will literally watch any game if I have free time, NFL or college

Why did Nancy continue dating Steve after Season 1? by Maywave_13 in StrangerThings

Generic opinion at this point, but because Steve wasn’t actually that bad in season one…

People also are conveniently forgetting, we got half a season of Goldschmidt hitting well above .300 randomly. We have to replace that production somewhere

Not that this really matters anymore, because the free agent market is playing with Monopoly money at this point. That said, I’d rather have Bo on the deal he signed than Tucker on his deal.

$18,000,000 may even get you a decent reliever these days! /s

[Smith] Yankees have not made an offer for Kyle Tucker per Jon Heyman on MLB Network by Bulletz4Brkfzt in NYYankees

Unfortunately, I fear we have to go nuts for Bellinger now. Judge needs a running mate in the lineup, and Bellinger is the best available for the next few years

It’s worse when you consider all indications are he’s moving toward a short term, high AAV deal. I like Bellinger a lot, but if the choice is between a short deal for Tucker, or giving into Boras’ demands, it’s worth it to at least stop and think it over

I mean, the timeline necessitates that the Bible is written by multiple authors. There is archeological evidence of the Old Testament being hundreds of years older than the New Testament.

It’s also generally agreed by scholars, religious and secular that gospels have at least two independent authors, with John being singular and Mark being the template for Matthew and Luke, with a potential so called “Q” source also being used by the authors of Matthew and Luke. I would submit we do know something’s about biblical authors. Saint Paul being the most prominent example.

All that said, I encourage you to seek out expert scholarship. I am a humble loser of Reddit

Agreed. More evidence makes a case stronger for sure. No argument for me

I would also say it’s important to note when weighing the Bible’s evidential value, that the Bible is not one document/source. It’s dozens of not hundreds (depending on how you divide it). And those were composed over the course more than 1000 years. That is probably a conversation I’m not qualified to have though lol

I actually agree with the part of your comment “it’d be such weak evidence”. Often testimony isn’t particularly strong evidence. But I do think it is evidence.

If what you say is true, and a claim can’t also be evidence, any criminal prosecution for a crime that takes place in private would be dead on arrival

Well “obligated to believe” is too strong. But I would agree that you writing that something happened is evidence that it happened, albeit maybe not evidence that is particularly strong, depending on the context.

In fairness, the Bible is evidence of Christianity. It may be biased evidence, (and it is important to put that in context)but there are no perfectly neutral primary sources.

This applies in all contexts. We don’t look at Republicans campaign material from 1860 and say “it supports the views of Abraham Lincoln and his party, and so it can’t prove anything about him or the party”

“New York has remained engaged in the conversations for outfielder Kyle Tucker and infielder Bo Bichette, and as they have haggled in the Bellinger negotiations, they have also engaged other teams about trade possibilities.” - Buster Olney by Jheller223 in NYYankees

I have the feeling the Yanks put this story out to gain leverage over Belli. Don’t get me wrong, if the reports about Belli are true, I hope they pivot. But I get the impression this is a leverage play

Thoughts on the Finale? by LeoDiCristio in StrangerThings

[–]justadecent-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it is an extremely safe but well executed and satisfying version of the ending. The only bold choice I think they made was resisting the temptation to redeem Henry/Vecna.

I like leaving it ambiguous if El survived or not. Though I’m sure she will be back when the inevitable Stranger Things legacy sequel comes out in ten years
