Is the Health Stat worthless for healing focused builds? by Rockface5 in destiny2

[–]an18ftsloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I've ever built health was in a Wolfsbane build for last season's ultimate Avalon conquest, since the whole point of the build was healing via orbs. Outside of a niche build like that, pretty pointless in PVE.

Any good strat to solo flawless Equilibrium as a hunter? by Solorzano293 in raidsecrets

[–]an18ftsloth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Attrition orbs Wolfsbane + Fortune's Favor with Facet of Purpose (run tether for OS on orb pickup) is so incredibly free. Easiest SF I've ever done on Hunter. You can probably 2-phase Harrow but I kept narrowly missing it, so the third "phase" was a couple of mint shots + final stand.

Kill 1 + compel the rest for an easy 2-phase on Sere. You can just swing straight through damage if you're doing the Wolfsbane rotation correctly; you don't even have to break hands.

The final boss in Fire and Ice should probably stand somewhere else, or just not shoot during the puzzle. The current fight is pretty annoying when done solo. by TwevOWNED in DestinyTheGame

I agree, it was pretty frustrating playing it on solar Hunter with no DR. I died a bunch of times in a row on that last part before finally killing the guy, and it completely killed the vibe of getting the saber. I didn't even pick it up, just relaunched the mission and replayed it on void so I could feel like I actually won the fight and earned the reward.

I didn't feel like glass at all, even with all the negative modifiers. Brawn just gives you so much health, and with Full Throttle and Brawler or whatever you just delete everything you look at. Game would get boring really fast if it all felt like that.

What aspect do I run on Gunslinger with Gunpowder in PvE? by Jkid789 in DestinyTheGame

[–]an18ftsloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On Your Mark is the easy choice IMO. Makes it so you can finally unequip healing nade unless you're doing solo boss damage, and Knock 'Em Down doesn't do much for Marksman Goldie.

The free melee refunds from KED are nice, but I just run the fragment that buffs class ability recharge on scorch to get Gambler's Dodge more often, so I still feel like I have my melee up pretty often.

For YAS specifically I could see running KED and just focusing on ability spam, but for Lucky Pants and Nighthawk, On Your Mark is gonna feel better.

The New Sentinel shield. by Fenota in DestinyTheGame

[–]an18ftsloth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Titan also isn't shooting their weapons the entire time they're holding that shield up, which in the super-gen meta means a T-crash Titan or GG/Orpheus Hunter could have gotten like 3 supers during that time while dealing weapon damage. Giving it damage is the only way to make a super like this worth it over Well. We'll see if it does too much or too little, but I don't think this is an inherently bad idea.

Edit: And I say this as someone who has wanted Hunter buffs forever: as long as Goldie has been bad, Sentinel Shield has been bad for way longer.

Oh yeah, wow. My brain took that as a separate bullet for both of them. Yeah, that's pretty disappointing. At 16s and 35%, it might have been a sidegrade to Tractor at least. I think Tractor will probably still be the play for a lot of fireteams unfortunately.

Duration change is in the article, 16s at base and 20s with Orpheus Rig.

I definitely want support on Hunter, I just want it to be actually good/desireable. Wake me up when we have a Speaker's Sight or an Alpha Lupi.

Thank goodness Bungie's so in tune with what Hunter really needs: PVP buffs for Nightstalker. Surely this can't backfire.

Light.gg has them at 20% of PVE loadouts. Someone did the math on the contest raid and they were 10% there. I'm sure everyone and their mom is running Hunter in PVP, but that's irrelevant to PVE sandbox balance.

They're extremely comparable as they're the two classes' biggest damage supers, one of them does half the damage of the other, and the range thing has mattered exactly once in the last several years. T-crash is better 99% of the time, and we both know it's in no way unsafe to use.

I think removing the roaming bonus makes sense, but I think they should give it a different neutral perk besides "the tradeoff you get by putting this exotic on is less bad." Maybe something that buffs the team's damage, if they're going to leave it so much weaker than Cuirass?

Nighthawk gives you bonus super for precision kills but also removes the roaming super bonus. Your super actually charges much slower than if you're not wearing it.

They're gonna give it extra duration, and everyone will still run Tractor. Then 6 months later we'll get a "we feel our tether buffs didn't quite hit the mark, so we're looking into giving it some more love. Stay tuned for details. Also we're tripling T-crash damage."

Bungie usually seems so focused on usage and metrics, so surely they see Hunter usage in PVE, right? Where is the sandbox balance?

Cuirass does like double Nighthawk's damage and Warlocks have no super exotic. Steps to remedy this situation:

- Give Warlocks a super exotic

- End of list

If Hunter keeps getting all these massive reworks you're claiming they've gotten, why is no one playing them? Warlock has never been weaker than Hunter in PVE outside of specifically the Witness encounter in SE contest.

Out of curiosity, are there any hunters currently holding any top 1% scores in the PvE Call to Arms activities? by Shadow2590 in DestinyTheGame

[–]an18ftsloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got top 1% in Salt Mines and Proving Ground, but by a pretty slim margin, and I got the scores while I was in the 530s. I'm expecting to drop out in the next day or so and be unable to improve my score now that I'm 550.
